Having gone to the same school as Michael Moore did just a year or two behind him, I feel I have to defend a fellow of my Alma Mater, even if I may
not agree with him all the time.
Why does pointing out the flaws in Capitalism/Corporatism make you a "Communist"? You do realize that there are dozens of other Economic Models
other than Capitalism/Socialism/Communism right? Or were you just using that title as a Buzz-Word to slander?
You do realize that Capitalism is just an Economic Model and not a Political Model right? Even though the United States has become more a
Corporatocracy than a Democratic Republic, Capitalism is not one and the same with Democracy/Republic. The two are able to exist independently of one
another. You can still have a Democratic Republic without Capitalism without changing our form of Government one single bit.
So does this mean that you honestly and truly believe that Corporate interests are in the people's best interests? You honestly think that the things
AIG, Lehman Brothers, BoA, JP Morgan Chase, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Goldman Sachs did to cause the Financial Crisis were to benefit the American
people? Do you really believe that there was no wrong-doing on their part despite ongoing Criminal investigations by the FBI and Securities Exchange
Commission?
Does that mean you totally support the Trillions we gave in Economic Bail-Outs to these Corporate Interests?
Does that mean that you don't believe the Corporate Interests guide the hand of Government through bribes, gifts, Campaign Contributions, and
Lobbyists?
If you are so behind the Corporate Interests which have spawned their Corruption since 1829 in our Country, fouling the waters of our Democratic
Republic, then why are you here on ATS to begin with?
You don't have to be a fan of Moore or his works to see that Capitalism, especially after the Supreme Court decision to grant Corporations 14th
Amendment Rights, has become the enemy of Democracy.
Our Government isn't as flawed as it's marriage to Capitalism. A divorce is long overdue.
That isn't to say that we have to embrace Communism as the only alternative...but Capitalism in America has become Corporatism/Monopolism, and is
broken beyond repair. The only way we can dismantle the Corporatocracy that has become our Government which is of the Corporations, by the
Corporations, and for the Corporations that was originally supposed to be of the people, by the people and for the people is to toss Capitalism out.
Maybe if the SC reversed the decision to grant 14th Amendment Rights to Corporations we could go back to another form of Capitalism other than
Corporatism/Monopolism, but it might be in the better interests of the people to look at the dozens of other Economic options that are available to
us.
And now is the perfect time to do so.
But I suppose you'll just call me a "Commie" too. After all, it's easier to call people names than to deny ignorance, consider possibilities and
alternatives, and offer solutions.
