HR 1586 (if passed) Will "hide" new health care reform

Just found this out this morning. I had no clue that Mr. Reid was trying to pull this out of his magic hat!

Health care has been bogged down in the Senate due to the tremendous and unrelenting pressure constituents have imposed on their Senators over the past few months. Yesterday The Senate Finance Committee rejected a government run health care plan, aka, public option. Harry Reid is determined to pass government run health care by any deceptive means possible. His latest devious strategy is to to attach a socialist health care bill to a House-passed non-healthcare bill. That bill is H.R. 1586. Ironically, nobody knows what that legislation looks like, because it has not yet been written. Yet many members plan to rubber-stamp socialist health care without reading or understanding the bill.

The first step is to get a socialist health care bill out of the Senate Finance Committee. Then Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.) can say that the two Senate Committees, Finance Committee and the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, have passed a bill which will allow him to take extraordinary steps to get the bill on the Senate floor. The second step is to merge the two bills. Step three will be to attach the final Senate bill to H.R. 1586.

There are two methods people can take to prevent Reid and his fellow socialists from attempting to deceive yet again. First people can contact their Senators via phone, email and fax demanding such an onerous bill as H.R.1586 be defeated on a Senate vote.

If this bill passes, they won't need to have a "health care reform". It will be in legislation already.

Funny thing is, the bill was wrote to tax 90% of bailout bonuses.

The freerepublic? Rush Limbaugh was talking about it on the radio...The War Room was talking about it. I just found a good site to post a link for everyone to read.

I don't understand your response. Mr. Reid is a very deceptive man. He will try to sneak this in any bill he can. As stated above, this bill is for an entirely different cause. Not health care.

First off, stating a bill will do something then stating that the bill has not yet been written so noone knows what it will look like is just rediculous. I understand this is a quote from an article, havok, so these comments are towards the article, not you.

I pull down the text of the legislation (it has been written), As scheduled for senate. This doesn't mention anything for health care. I do not see how anyone, Rush or otherwise can be making these claims.. I see no evidence in the bill for it.

While many here are calling the "public option" nothing more than a socialist agenda, I have to say that you all wrong.

Yes, fighting for something that is no true, having a health care reform without competition against the private insurance companies and making having private insurance mandatory is not win for the American tax payer and the poor, that still will not have any health care.

A public option is the only way that competition can ensure that private insurance will lower their cost.

Mandatory private insurance with not public option means that we are force into taking whatever the new monopolized insurance business will have available or face the penalties.

People needs to wake up and smell the real agenda behind the deception of socialized health care as many are trying to portrait.

Mandatory private insurance converage without public option is nothing but a bailout to the private insurance business in the nation.

Still we have already socialized health care is call medicare and medicaid.

I understand what you are saying, rogerstigers. What I gathered out of the article in its entirety is that Mr. Reid is going to add this legislation to the HR 1586.

So, he adds it. Big deal right? Yep. BIG deal.

The point of this thread is to show that HR 1586 is going to hide an entirely different aspect of law that doesn't have anything to do with bailout bonuses if Reid gets away with this. Thats all.

Ah, I get what your saying... well, we'll get plenty of heads up if he does...all ammendments to bills are logged in the register as well. As for the method he is purportedly planning on using, I don't agree with it either, but it is 100% normal. They are constantly attaching riders to unrelated laws for strategic reasons. In this case, Reid may actually be more intent on killing the bonus law by attaching an unfavorable rider. I have seen that ploy used before. Regardless, it's all talk until it happens.. so far he has done nothing.

Yes, I apologize if my remarks sounded like I was attacking you personally. I meant that the source AND Mr. Limbaugh have lied so many times about the current administration that I would think people would take absurd claims like this with a grain of salt.
