Many swine flu deaths linked with second infection

www.reuters.com

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Many people who have died of H1N1 swine flu in the United States have also had bacterial infections, health officials reported on Wednesday.

A study of 77 patients who died of the new pandemic H1N1 virus showed 29 percent of them had so called bacterial co-infections, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported.

About half of these had Streptococcus pneumoniae, which can be prevented with a vaccine, the CDC said. It said doctors may be missing these infections in people severely ill with flu.

Here is my take on this. We have been talking on ATS for sometime about why this vaccine is being forced on us and what is really in it. There have been numerous theories, guesses and claims made but as more people are getting this vaccine (either voluntarily or through "required" methods), a trend is beginning to develop.

People who are getting this vaccine are dieing because of SECONDARY infections. Streptococcus pneumoniae, which can be prevented with a vaccine, was the same bacterial infection that was present in the previous pandemics of 1968, 1957 and 1918. Maybe there should be another vaccine to go along with the h1n1...

The part that I find completely baffling is how these people who appeared healthy enough to get the vaccine suddenly developed a fatal infection.

The CDC team noted that at first it did not appear that people who were seriously ill with swine flu or who died of it had secondary infections but doctors may have missed them.

The news/reports surrounding this vaccine isn't getting any better for anyone.

On the "Flu Clinic" posters around town I noticed for the first time they are mentioning specifically that there will be a pneumonia vaccine as well.

Has there always been a pneumonia vaccine? I feel like this is the first year I've heard of this. Maybe it's just the first year Ive noticed this?

Well very soon our children are going to be pocked with vaccinations soo much that their bodies are going to look like colanders.

We are indeed a nation of super vaccinated, over medicate people that still dies from diseases and side effects of the same diseases that we get our children vaccinated for.

What a way to keep the money gravy train for big pharma in America.

Yes the pneumonia vaccine has been around awhile. If memory serves me it is only given once every few years. About ten years ago I got both the pneumonia shot & flu shot at the same time. I haven't had a flu shot for about eight years. Also have not had the flu in that time.

I'm not seeing where the article says it's the swine flu vaccine that is the subject of question re secondary infection as you imply in your comments?
Regardless,One can almost count on two hands the direct deaths from the virus itself from my research.

Whatever about secondary infections leading to death, what about primary underlying health conditions as well, namely, Diabetes, heart conditions, obesity etc, in the majority of fatal cases.
And as for an infection that could easily be cured by Vaccine;
yeah , great .Lets have another one as well, hell, lets just make up one big drip bag compound of bits of every nasty that ever existed (or was invented!) and we can all be constantly intraveneously fed while we wheel our drip machines around with us in our day;save a fortune on propaganda and advertising for the endless fear campaign.
The rhetoric seems endless.sighhhh.

I currently have the flu and it's bad! I have COPD, and chronic asthma and it's going to my lungs. I have had the pneumonia vaccine and I'm hoping that will be my savior. My Dr. has put me on Tamiflu, 2000mg. of Keflex, and gave me an injection of steroids. I honestly think that the pneumonia vaccine is the only thing that is keeping me out of the hospital.

Am I wrong in reading, it says nothing about these deaths being due to the vaccine, merely due to the infection.

Edit: Typical really of the assumptions that are flying around in this, OUR latest trend.

All the people who got the pneumonia vaccinations 6 months ago when I warned everyone about this are probably feeling pretty good about now.

The pneumonia vaccine protects against one type of organizism only, Pneumococcus. You can get pneumonia from many different types of bacteria.

Some of the best case study work on this virus took place in Mexico prior to the big outbreak in Mexico City and was performed by a research team who just happened to be working in the local clinics in several small villages.

Though a huge number of residents were infected the number of deaths from severe respiratory distress (immune system response) were low. The majority of deaths prior to Mexico City were from secondary infections of pneumonia.

There's a great deal of data surrounding this virus and the pandemic which just doesn't add up but one of best pieces of advice passed on by research scientists and influenza specialists was to get the pneumococcal vaccine if at all possible. That is the pneumonia vaccine specific to strep and as it turns out, was right on the money.

What concerns me is the fact that this data was known so long ago yet the medical press still runs around acting like they have no clue about the swine flu. Every "new" discovery is actually old news (if you were paying attention). Call it incompetence, call it intentional confusion - the results come out the same either way.

The vaccine people were warned to get over 6 months ago is specific against the strep variant pneumonia. As the report states, the co-infection deaths are from that very bacteria. I would take that as a compelling indicator to get the pneumococcal vaccine if at all possible. It's not too late to protect yourself and your loved ones.

This vaccine can be given to small children and the elderly, I'm not aware of any reports of vaccine side effects being linked to it.
