"In the Mission's view, it was Georgia which triggered off the war when it attacked Tskhinvali (in South Ossetia) with heavy artillery on the night of 7 to 8 August 2008," said Swiss diplomat Heidi Tagliavini, who led the investigation. The report said the war followed tensions and provocations by Russia, but Tagliavini said: "None of the explanations given by the Georgian authorities in order to provide some form of legal justification for the attack lend it a valid explanation."

Hehehe ! Sometimes, the TRUTH comes forth.
Remember, guys, the mountains of trash throwed to Russia when this war occured.

Some are always fighting against the USSR ! They should realize that things have changed.

Furthermore, what this report DOESN'T tell, is that this war, triggered by GEORGIA, had been enginiered by the US and ISRAEL.
Don't forget that, when Israelk will attack IRAN ...

Interesting.

Lets see how this gets spun - especially as a lot of the MSM painted Russia as the initial aggressor.

I imagine it will not get much press, or the people that developed the report will be belittled.

It wasn't just the MSM that hyped this as more Russian aggression. It was also McCain, he wanted us to actually send help in the form of equipment, funding and ven troops to help stem the Russian aggression.

Hmm, just how close did we get to another War based on lies and outright misinformation...? too close. One election away from troops fighting for someone else's agenda....... AGAIN.

I think the tip off to anyone would be "EU-backed report"

who wrote and financed the report and who stands to gain from it's exposure?

hmmmm

Two problems :

-1) So, you think that an independant commission, EU backed, having the agreement of Georgia and Russia, should be in any case suspiscious ...
You mean, that because it's conclusions are disgracefull for Georgia, that makes it MORE suspiscious ?

2) From the very beginning of this war, it was known by all those who wanted to know the truth, that the Georgians had triggered this war by heavily bombing the Ossetian city of Tsinkhvali on the night of 7 to 8 August of 2008. And THAT is exactly what tells this report.
Is it suspiscious to tell the truth ?

MSM stated that Georgia started the whole thing very early in the game. As such, this announcement is a non-event. The fact that Russians invaded Georgia as a consequence is also quite correct as the facts go.
