Help Me Decide PLEASEE!

Would anyone be kind enough to offer me advise, what would be a good career to go into? I want to leave school as it is just terrible but i do not have any other options as to what to do! could anyone tell me some careers i could go into.
I am interested in most ATS stuff but i doubt there would be creers around these topics that would be easy to get into?

I would much appreciate any help given

Not sure what skills you have-especially with wanting to leave school... BUT the trade skills are highly valuable. Things like welding, carpentry, electrician, plumbing etc.. There is a shortage in those fields and will always be demand.

Sales rep, telesales, recruitment,estate agent, advertising and marketing. these are all careers, that will sap the very life out of you. I suggest avoiding at all costs. Sometimes it's good to know what you DONT want to do.

as far as helping you decide, I can this say this, if you don't like or don't want to go to school anymore for any reason, I see it as a waste of time and money, and I would tell anyone else I know just like you, stop going, and don't go back again.

Whatever it is you love to do try and get paid to do it.
If you find a job that involves what you love to do then you'll probably never have to work again.

One ATS member posted last week about a site were working people could share their reason why they chose a certain job etc...

It was especially for young people who are at the starting point of their working career and had difficulty deceiding what to choose.

Can't remember the site but i will do some backtracking for you and post back when i find it....

I agree with the guy who said to get a trade.
Theres some pretty awesome money with some of the trades these days.
People will always need builders and plumbers and electricians...those jobs will never be obsolete.

George there is no quick fix, whatever root you want to take you are going to have to get educated in the discipline. Just ensure that which you choose is something you enjoy with a passion.

The disciplines found on this site are of great interest to a majority of people who come here but few work within these fields and most would consider it a hobby of interest.

Thats not to say you are not capable of breaking into one of these fields and having success but it will most certainly require educating yourself.

If university is not an option then I would say college, but even then you will be competing against those who have obtained qualifications and stand a better chance of obtaining the slots in those courses than yourself, most certainly if you have not completed a base education.

You are young, and what may seem like wasted years now will pale in to insignificance if you don't put in the time at this early stage.

Forget a Career, have a few jobs first and see what makes you happy.

No point working towards something unless you know what that something is.

I dont know where you live but here in FL those jobs are no in demand. I know MANY carpenters, electricians, plumbers and so on who have no work. Is it better where you l live for these jobs??

Are you bored in school? What if you went for something you are interested in that has to do with something ATS related?? What stuff do you like on ATS? I get very bored in school because I dont feel I am really learning anything I dont already know about what I want to do. I have already done work with what I go to school for but I have to have that silly piece of paper stating I am qualified and have spent thousands learning my trade to have my own business! Grrr!
What about truck driving? I know many people who have turned to that and they make excellent money and have benefits...How about cable installation? My sisters bf got a job doing that and in a year was offered a supervisors position in another state make 50k plus bonuses a year.....What do you like to do? That is how you will decide. Make sure you enjoy it otherwise you will get bored with that and want something else...Good luck!

Don't pressure yourself into making a decision that you will be unhappy with. Just wait. It will come to you.

Given the economy's shape, you may want to look into jobs you can do from home. You can be a graphic designer, a medical transcriptionist, a web designer, a freelance writer, nursing is always a safe bet, work in a funeral home; all of these require schooling, except the writer option, however, you'd have to be very up-to-date and knowledgeable with many fields of study in order for magazines and companies to hire you to write for them. And good communication skills is always a plus.

go with what makes you happy, i went with engineering did my apprentiship then got made redundent due to the lack of work however, i am re training at the age of 18 as a plumber another job i enjoy doing however, i think most jobs in the economy will be stuggling,

i think what can i do at home and for my community and look forward to lots of work with if/when things pick up.
