Ashley Wolfe - AKA Glambo - One tough Canadian

BUDAPEST — Canadian Ashley Wolfe said Thursday she's proud of her performance in a bloody melee with burly British soldiers and insists she's a victim who shouldn't have been convicted last week on assault charges.


Wolfe, a 24-year-old who stands only five-foot-three and weighs 125 pounds, has been dubbed "Glambo" by British newspapers feasting on the story of a beautiful, petite young Canadian who punched out members of Britain's oldest army regiment while clad in a sexy red dress.

What a lady!!!!

After a bit of Googling, a few details are starting to emerge:

Accounts by Wolfe and the soldiers differed on how the fight started, but reports agree that the woman became upset when she saw male soldiers dancing together, mimicking homosexual behavior by hugging, kissing, and imitating sexual intercourse.

Wolfe's husband, Bill, who was on the base teaching unarmed combat, had part of his nose bitten off after he came to his wife's defense.

Wolfe was tried in absentia after she failed to appear in court. She had asked for the trial to be delayed after she contracted the flu while in Hungary.

A London court, which found her guilty in absentia of common assault, accepted the army’s version: the male soldiers were dancing together pretending to be gay and Wolfe took offence—and in the words of the Sun newspaper, “went on a rampage, knocking over burly soldiers from the elite regiment like skittles.” The Wolfes say the drunken soldiers tried to drag Ashley into the grinding male mass on the dance floor and she resisted, forcefully.

No doubt we'll hear the rest of the story eventually. I'd just LOVE to be able to interview her for ATS, but, alas, I'm no reporter.

So far, we have a bunch of loaded Brits playing 'silly bugger', a soldier knocked out with one punch and her hubby, who is more than twice her age and an instructor in self defence , gettting part of his nose bitten off...

I'm not sure who is in the right in this situation, given that each side has a different story. I will say I really like a woman who is able to stand up for herself and isn't some wuss.

She's not match for my ex who would've made those guys punch themselves to get away from her nagging,
