I feel totally ripped off by the B.B.C., and this is why

In respect of this "red" problem I will report back in a few days later with further information, I'm sorry the information I gave on that is insufficient so far.

Please don't overlook the other points, I highlight so that you 'take it in':-

In the year 2003, the BBC broadcast their series "The Murder Game" which they marketed as an 'interactive murder mystery'. And they further marketed by transmitting a message within 30 seconds of commencement of the BBC 10pm News, a programme which of course is about real life events. I think that the technique which the BBC may have thought was "sensational" marketing, transmitting such a message so close to the news, completely blurred the context of what this meant to the viewer and how it made the viewer feel - that this was apparently intended as a fictional matter was blurred, the line had been crossed. Seconds before the real life news started, you would hear "The Murder game - Don't Trust Anyone". Then you would see the graphics of back then dancers scaling down from a gymnasium ceiling, and "doon doon" the news started, during the same period that the BBC was screening "The Murder Game" and, crucially - the marketing for "The Murder Game". My serious complaint, sent by Special Delivery post, was replied to with a generic message, signed by machine. Harrowingly, I noticed that there was a dramatic increase in reported murders on my local news programme. There is no entertainment value in the BBC transmitting "Don't trust anyone" so close to the News, and there was a dramatic rise in real life homicide during the period of series transmission, triggered, due to the marketing of the Murder Game.

But that is not an accurate representation of violent crime rates. You may notice an increase but that doesn’t mean there is one. You take no account of unreported events, crimes you just happen to miss, crimes you didn’t take notice of because it wasn’t preceded by something you believe is a precursor. Nor do you seem to consider other factors that might have an effect on the crime rate, you have no way of isolating the BBC as the cause, it could be any number of other things including just a coincidence if there was an increase at all.

The easiest solution to your problem (and I stress *your* problem) is simply switch the channel and watch another station - problem solved.

Personally, I have no problem with the BBC's choice of colour scheme - I'm not as easily influenced as you are so it's fine with me.

And the programs yous listed were really good shows. Messiah was very good. Didn't care much for the murder game one just because of the quality - not the content.

But that's just my take on it. Again, if you truly find something on the telly that offends you to such a degree you feel the need to complain to them so much - just "change the channel"

TheDailyPlanet, I'm utterly convinced [after first reading your entire thread on the Daily Mail] that your objectivity is helping you pursue matters that are not only radical speculation but something you are clearly obsessed with. I pay you credit for your efforts to research material to support your claims, but to avoid debate entirely (as you so continue to do so at any hint of contention) says little about your ability to substantiate exactly whatever it is that you are trying to point out.

I would like to offer that I acknowledge the premises under-which you make your arguement, but for the afore-mentioned reasons, and to coin a phrase, ''I'm out''.

Thank you Baz. To answer the earlier quoted post, I really am not going to start playing G.T.A. series - I heard that there is a lot of violence, including the ability to sleep with prostitutes and then murder them with a variety of options available to you how to do it, run crime syndicates etc . - sorry it's not for me, but I'm not trying to stop others playing what's available, many people enjoy it, I for example enjoy playing the Piano as a hobby, each to their own.

Indeed, each to their own. You must surely see another's arguement against your claims though? The point was not literal that you play G.T.A or whatever that is exactly [sorry, it's not for me either apparently].

The point was that you offer no platform to debate when a subject is introduced to you that is contrary to your opinion or your belief. Is that not ignorance in itself? I'm confident I could find countless quarters that would suggest that it is.

Again, I appreciate the premise of your claims, but I am reminded of obsession when I read your posts.

I find it astonishing that your main gripe with the BBC appears to be a colour scheme.

I wouldn't mind but your argument is incredibly tenuous and incredibly selective. To be honest, I find it quite alarming - it perhaps saying a lot more about you than than the any art department of the BBC - that when you see these idents all you think of is blood and violence. There are a whole raft of cultural or psychological associations for the colour red and yet you just see blood? The Chinese see red as being a colour associated with wealth, luck, celebrations and is also used for weddings &c for that reason. Different cultures traditionally associate red with a whole variety of meanings.

Even closer to home the colour is associated with a plethora of things but again, you only seem to associate it in one way.

This thread reminds me of the kind of paranoia that happened during the last American election: the merest hint of the colour red in any Obama-related platform was, apparently, a blatant (or secretdepending on the speculator) indicator of the Communist/Socialist (because they're the same, apparently) path that Obama was going to drag America down.

I do quite like the use of colour Red sometimes, however in this context, the complaint is about the graphic not the Colour.

The context is that the graphic is an introductory sequence to a news programme, which contains news reports which regrettably may recount 'bloodshed' , which obviously everything must be done to stop.

However, the graphic shows jets of red, in the same shade as blood in parts of the graphic, and the jets are being beamed from satellite dish to satellite dish. Then, in that posted youtube link, the whole screen goes red, and the news starts.

Don't worry, if not a single person backs me, then I'll drop the matter, and they can keep their seeing red graphics.

With all due respect, with regards to "jets of red", if this was another colour there'd be tendency for 'sensitive' people to read what they wanted into it.

Yellow? "Why are the BBC promoting 'water sports'? Those jets of yellow are clearly streams of piss! How much further will these liberal degenerates go?"

Black? "I'm intrigued as to the not-so-subliminal message the BBC are using with their in-house commercials. Given their relationship to the New Labour government over Iraq-related reportage could they not be telling us that it was, indeed, a WAR FOR OIL! What else could jets of black liquid be about?"

Pink? "I'm tired of the BBC promoting poovery! Let's do the decent thing and get this filth of our screens. Don't they know kids are watching?"

The BBC News channel (as it is now) has had red as it's brand colour since it's inception. It was behind the game and competeing with Sky News, CNN, and all the rest of the plethora of rolling news channels available. They simply sought to differentiate themselves and have succeeded, in my opinion. To suggest that there is anything related to promoting violence seems worryingly paranoic to me.

Did you honestly expect them to treat your complaints seriously? That adds delusions of grandeur to the mix.

Turn off the TV and go and read a book. Just try to avoid one of the millions that has any red on their cover. It won't do your blood pressure any good.

I personally think that the red and white that the beeb has been using for their brand colours is simply meant to evoke the red & white of the George Cross. It's a hell of a lot more likely than your idea.

My sentiment for the B.B.C. is the same.

I have heard there are at times great difficulties with their audio, and their digital codecs etc. do not work, the digital satellites break up etc.

And the B.B.C. recently spent nearly £1million erecting statues etc.

Of license fee-payer's money.

I am prepared to do a deal with the B.B.C. If they urgently change their graphic design contractors, update their audio etc, then I'll continue paying for my T.V. license.

Historical dealings with the organisation by me show that they won't.

I can refuse to pay my license due to the incitement opinion I have of Nick Robinson, discussed in other threads.

I have heard a rumour that some of license-fee payers money ends up being spent on coc aine, although apparently they are trying to crack down on this "the official word".

They also recently spent in excess of £1million of license fee payers money erecting statues for the B.B.C. workers. - it's all true. The B.B.C. is one f****d up place if you ask me. Even their news audio music is now totally f****d up (composer David Lowe)

I'm deeply sorry to inform it really is true.

The colour Red and associated idents in the manner have an effect of increasing the blood pressure, and in some individuals, the ability to increase their aggression.

The two companies responsible are Red Bee Media, and Lambie-Nairn, as contracted by the BBC organisation.

My advice is that the BBC is disbanded, and the Government relaunches with a different management, as well as the abolition of the TV license.

I always refuse to pay for my TV license, on the grounds of the incitement to murder dispute v BBC television. Such as:-

"the knives were out" for Nick Robinson. These knives are no longer out.

A prostitute was apparently murdered, and another one too, after Jeremy Clarkson's Top Gear joke. Whether or not Jeremy Clarkson is a really evil man I can't be certain, but I'm sorry I believe he has "blood on his hands".

Criminals have told me that the (now removed, finally) "blood-bath" graphic caused them to commit their homicides. These graphics were designed by Mr. Alex Conrad. Mr. Martin Lambie-Nairn devised the News 24 graphics, which depict beams of blood being beamed all over the world by the BBC, which of course I cannot watch anymore.
