Suspicious package investigated at Times Square

we have the Open, the president was here, that knucklehead from libya is coming, the holidays are approaching.

a nice mix. Surprisingly, I've not seen the Hercules Team once in the last 6 months. Well, the advanced scouts are visible outside temples and other targets (Macys) but they're always roaming around.

I'm a few blocks from Times Square, no abnormal activity here. Like Crakeur said, suspicious packages are normal here. There is a constant police presence, especially in Times Square and they take every report seriously even if it is just lost luggage. As they say, "move along, nothing to see here".

Now, I am not trying to fan the flames of paranoia or anything, but has it occurred to anyone else that all of these recent blips are coming faster and faster lately? Could it purely be a way to keep the boys in blue distracted and busy while the ACTUAL event is being set up?

Just a thought....
