Strength Of A Father (Poem)

So my dad's birthday is coming up and I can't think of anything to get him. I created this poem to put in a card for him and just thought I'd share it like I usually do.

Anyone have any ideas for gifts for the dad that has everything?

Through time and through fears
Through love and some tears
Through the school of hard knox
Through long pondered walks

Through distress and hope
Through life's steepened slope
You've held on through fire
To stand bold and inspire

From a boy to a man
Since my days began
I can't simply describe
How I love you inside

Though at times, life's unfair
You have always been there
To remind me to see
Of the man I can be

Suffice it to say
There is not a day
Where I don't give thought
To the life that I've sought

But when battling through lies
For all truth's rarest prize
The conclusion I drew
Is my strength came from you

So when the night draws
It's drapes for a pause
I'll be gracious, not sad
For having you dad

As a person who lost their father a few years ago I think your words are beautiful,I used to sometimes only see the weaknesses of my late Father as a teenager and young man, now I see how strong and beautiful he was,I look for him sometimes, mainly its too hard to think about, but your poem will SOMETHING YOU WILL ALWAYS BE GLAD YOU WROTE AND GAVE TO YOUR LIVING FATHER.

That is a beautiful piece!!! There is a special bond between me and my daddy, most people say I act just like him!! I love this poem!!!!!
