True if I walked into an ER with my arm falling off Im sure someone would help me ... but that is some minimal care. Every human should have full and equal health care to anyone else. Any other case is unethical and immoral.

But dont try and say that everyone in the US has access to affordable healthcare. There are millions undernourished and sick here in the US. Look at our VETS for heaven's sake. We cant even treat them right!

I have stayed in a VA hospital for 59 days and almost lost my left foot as the Intern acting as a doctor made a mistake. Very scary the treatment back in 1977 we got from the VA hospital. But the Intern told me face to face that he made the mistake and said he was sorry. I have had a mistake made on me at the NHS and when the doctor found out he would not see me until I was put under for repairs of the mistake and never said sorry. Times have changed a bit as I have seen the new VA hospital in Reno and it is a beauty. However the Vets inside are still angry so it cannot be that good! I moved to England 25 years ago. I have stayed in an NHS hospital 6 times and I would rather be in a VA hospital instead any day. In the VA hospital I am treated with more respect. NHS gets paid if they deal with me or not. VA hospital have some doctors and nurses who care. My room in the VA hospital was always cleaned and I received reasonable meals. I cannot say the same about the NHS. But here in England it is free if you survive. The news the other day stated that prisoners receive healthier means than the NHS hospitals. Does America really want sales tax of 17.5% and the Torys say they will take it to 20% to cover the bail outs if elected. Gas in the UK is $7.00 - $10 a gallon depending on exchange rate and shortages. Does America really want to pay those kinds of prices for national health care? I heard the speech no new tax money to go into health care. How many times have they fed that line. Remember Chryslers bail out in the 80's and today they say future Chryslers cars will be made in China. It all sounds good at the time but in time it seems that everyone forgets what was originally promised.... Just MHO and experiences both sides of the pond as it were.

The healthcare industry loves this idea. They are going to make a fortune off of the collective stupidity of American morons.

You will get your nationalized healthcare, don't worry. It'll use the private system already in place. And you will get taxed to pay it, and all those taxes will line the pockets of the CEO of Kaiser Permanente, Legacy, Providence, and any other healthcare company the government contracts with.

So stupid.... people actually think that the healthcare industry is resisting this. Kaiser (the company I work for) has the largest lobby in the US for healthcare, and you know what it's mandate is? To get Universal coverage for all Americans. Do you know why an insurance company would want that? Because they can charge the government whatever the hell they want for your healthcare, because you are going to be forced to pay under a universal system.

It's is amusing to watch all those anti-corporate protestors, protesting...... for the "basic human right" to pay a corporation a ton of money to take advantage of you. Who's in bed with big business now?

Gee that's funny, are we forgetting that this whole healthcare bull is all a big great sham. The private companies and the Obama administration are all in it together! This little charade that these guys are playing seems to be working its magic on some of our ATS comrades after all. Keep in mind people, Obama is a corrupted puppet, and though we may be without all the facts we can safely assume his ultimate motive. There is nothing to gain from his healthcare program. He is a big fat liar, and chances are that guy might had gotten paid for his outburst. I tell you this though, the fact he is getting skewered by the public and the politicians alike shows me that society crucifies those who are outspoken and don't fear showing emotion. They get denied all the time. Big Insurance calls your medical problem a "preexisting condition" - coverage denied.

The US has among the best hospitals in the world cobbled with a third-world health care system. It's that way because that's how Big Pharm and Big Insurance want it.

Have you read the rest of the thread? If Wilson was "bought" by the industry, then Obama's a paid top executive for them.

Whether he was "paid" or not remains to be seen. It appears he was right though considering they have started to include provisions specifically regarding Illegals.

I think a lot of people want a health care reform...

It is just the way Obama and his crew are pushing it through which is making everybody uncomfortable about it.

Not that it isn't a bad idea...it is just that he is doing a bad job WITH IT.

Having a good idea and actually carrying it out are two different things.

All giant corporations are out of control, thanks partly to our government. Now they want to fix it right? They cause it then have the solutions?

I love how you people lump what politicians do into what millions of americans are upset about. we should already be getting the HC you speak of, with the money we are already paying! They want us to pay MORE? I wont pay it and i am sure many others wont.

He actually made more that 250K, he made almost another 300K from pharma companies and people who back the medical community. I don't have the source, but I read about it in an article that sources whatever the website is for people's freedom of information on congressional funding.

Its really looking like Health Care Reform is scoring good points to keep peoples attention on townhall meetings instead of casinos. Perhaps all the casino money will be replaced with world dollars when all the people mad about death panels return? Next, the underaged drinking security force will be used to get the attention of parents away from politics and on their own safety as their children become drunken gun totting Obamamaniacs. I can say I don't like where this is going. How quick to get the country under control as biological parents will refuse to murder their own Mordred children while strings are easily pulled for ultimate power and control. Or how about, lets exploit the recent live and let live philosophy against the ancient shovanist live and let die logic. This will keep the masses busy trying to keep their relationships in order or pulling their hair out at the attorney generals court.
