I am ever the optimist lol, even about this actually.

Not trying to sound the alarm bells I just see the potential for things to get a bit nasty for real and real reasons

My last thread was Stop,Watch, Breath i.e. don't panic, and that always holds true... and in these few weeks honestly the economic smack down has hit me too via others I care for and... it's telling.

I think one thing is for sure, economics aren't getting any better, it's not a panic attack time, just, Psychologically... I think part of what I am trying to convey is don't be led into harms way over economics or some vision of what life is supposed to be like.

Many responses here come down to... I can't, I have no money, how can I...

be mentally capable of bailing out, even if to a tent, if things get crazy don't send your kid to school because your worried about grades, keep him or her home and maybe 2 years later that child will be in classes, if there is a genuine pandemic starting or a city goes bye bye... ditch that house and new couch and get out of a target zone...

You don't need much to survive, what we question is keeping our lives the same as they are and... lets face it it's not that great working night and day to pay a mortgage anyway...

Survival isn't material beyond fire and water and some food, it's psychological, how you view things

25% of America has never been surveyed by foot...

There will be where to go...

I'm noticing allot of long time regulars are taking this more seriously and I think that is because we have been inundated with countless threads of nonsense and like you say, this feels different to us.

I went wilderness 90 days ago...

Many reasons, i'm not predicting the end of the world... but I am encouraging as best I can others to make the shift... I was a bit scared, there is no money up here lol, I had to rely on the net might have to take a lil lame job for the first time in 15 years

But Money is less important than life, ditch the high paying job if you have a house don't worry about how much you make off it...

Be in a real community

Be near natural sources of food

It's a better life than greed even if nothing much happens... what we know for sure is we aren't going to be a rich nation for the time being, so why sit urban and eat your heart out about what those that Already have allot of money have?

I say, if times will be tough why fight the wave?

I specifically intentionally contracted it in the spring to immunize.

It lasts a long time, it's a major pain in the rear end

It wont be over fast, this thing lingers around in you, it likes to jump and ends up in the stomach where it is not severe but rather uncomfortable... spreading for along time

I agree.

This scenario actually makes the Bay of Pigs look like a minor issue.

And your right IF we bypass by luck yet again, it is absolutely time for not one but several more parties politically, people need to get over this concept of democrat or republican entirely... no one takes the reality seriously enough.

White, if it gets that bad (and they will genuinely try to avoid that at all costs) but if it does... Land ownership wont mean much.

National Parks and Millions of acres of land owned in theory sitting empty by other governments the UN or private owners

all that becomes meaningless if there is no valid government

and when it's over if there is a new government the last thing they will be doing is pulling old records fro the ashes to see who Once owned the land, if your squatting it's yours

Once upon a time land was owned by who settled it...

A big enough disaster and enough people die that is how it will be yet again

Yeah lol

The "survivalist types" that don't see your value are the same guys that will die first lol

All full of piss and vinegar and loaded up with guns...

I don't even keep a gun nor do I see the need to...

You know why?

Because if it gets that ugly, I will stay under the bed for the first 60 minutes walk outside and pick some up off the bodies of those that started shooting first

when your neighbor has 6 guns and 2 hands That means he has 4 guns laying around loaded for you to shoot him with when he looses his mind.

You don't want to be around those "survivalists" they are a suicide squad...

I have a buddy of mine who has a group down in Phx... always brags, "there are 150 of us now... we have to be prepared to bust out of the city when the time comes"

My response is so when they send in what helicopters they have available who do you think they will shoot, me and my 2 friends trying to sneak 3 miles beyond the blockade...or at you and your 150 GUYS with GUNS

If it gets that bad you leave slowly and quietly in small groups moving at night and sleeping during the day and yeah... if there's a woman particulalry an older woman with you your allot less likely to get sniped from a hill top.

My apologies hadriana,

I did misread your post. It's been a long day today...Mainstream media has been quite confusing lately, but I guess that's part of the game.

On a side note, I just stumbled onto an article in Forbes from 2007 about The Dollar's Doomsday Scenario

Most of the people I work with walk around with this certain look. Almost like the 1,000 yard stare or whatever. If you strike up a conversation with someone the water cooler type talk seems to have turned to fascism, self defense, economy, the best gun for home defense, how to build a bunker in your backyard, DHS, Fema Camps, and so forth.

It sounds kind of funny but it's really not. People are certainly experiencing something.

The talk used to be about video games or sports or whatever else.

True, True and very True...

To me Obama explaining to kids life would be hard was a direct statement that he would or could do nothing about us giving away our wealth...

I was on one level very astounded... when he mentioned the Facebook thing...

I actually let the kids know they were being monitored, the guys does have a heart...

His 360 is just.... it's Ominous people think i'm ragging Obama, but I can tell he's a GOOD MAN, he has NO CHOICE, that is obvious and for that alone I am very wary right now

Nah, we'll be just fine my friend. The fear mongering must end here. Positivity is the key to a brighter future. The current matrix is designed to keep us down. It is designed to keep us mired in a state of negativity, fear, bigotry and divisiveness.

The government thrives off of our fear. Our fear justifies their existence. The more we fear, the more powerful they become. Lose your fear and the government loses a vast majority of their power.

Just something to ponder.

I am absolutely positive I will get through this and I wish to take some friends with me

Fear and Action aren't mutually exclusive, I do my best always to live by the philosophy you speak of...

But it is like the old joke...

"A man is in his house and a flood starts and a jeep comes by to evacuate him and he says God will provide and sends the Jeep on it's way.

Then the flood drives him to the second floor and a boat comes by to rescue him and he says God will provide and sends it on it's way

Finally he is on the roof and the water is rising still and a helicopter comes by to rescue him and he says god will provide and sends it on it's way

Then he drowns and when he gets to heaven he says God why didn't you save me I believed in you the whole time to which God responds, well you idiot I sent a jeep a Boat and a Helicopter"

Attitude and belief affect everything, but without action you just drown with a smile on your face

Oh, I know. But one does have to time these things well. Too soon and some nosey neighbors will turn you in and you'll be in jail for trespassing; too late and well, you're too late.

I have spots picked out. Would like to preposition somewhat before bugging out and am working on that. There are millions and millions of acres for sale in this country and not all of those properties have someone living there or even checking up on them.

I take day trips and talk to real estate agents. They know which properties have property managers or someone still living there. They're happy to tell you if they think you're looking to drop a quarter of a million dollars on buying the property.

I've resigned myself to going it alone. Not ideal but not impossible. Fortune favors the properly prepared. Luck helps but I don't rely on it.

What on Earth do you actually have to say? Your somebody? You have something to say? Got an Opinion?

Please by all means do better than an insult with no actual commentary I'll gladly debate anyone and I have what to say, actual words not a reduction of talk to insults my 10 year old could do better than in a pinch.

By all means if you want me out of the way, bring what you actually have and lets see what follows.

Seems to me you actually have nothing much to offer from this kind of response.

Oh great another Troll with no actual commentary, nothing to say but insults and capable of calling anyone out from across the internet...

A: a nutter in ma's basement

B: genuine survival nutcase who is long to shoot someone

C: Frustrated man whom no one loves with little education or social skills

D: All of the above

You've been challenged to make a valid point or have something to actually say

I have better things to do than listen to insults no one needs to deal with it and every time you throw a one liner you make a fool of yourself to the entire staff and every long time poster here

Bring it or go elsewhere if you have nothing to say

Having a label has always been somewhat revered (Paul Revere) Now that I'm a "domestic terrorist" and proud of it, I will proudly display the label and wear it well. The other labels (nut case, conspiracy theorist, far left, etc) don't mean much anymore. I'm pleased as punch with my new label and it fits me well. I really don't care to fly anyway and thank you for my new found identity I'm Spartacus would love to hear from any other DT's proudly wearing the label

And I guess this sums it up... your last thread

Labeled a domestic terrorist, not allowed to fly, claiming to have had to take a new identity

Being a wanna be Timothy McVeigh doesn't make you a survivalist it makes you a criminal... the kind of person that gives the Govt cause and reason to be paranoid ready at a drop (or at least fantasizing about being able to be) to mow down your frustrations in life.

Dumb enough if even a word of this was true to be posting it in a public forum and the kind of person who will end up on the nightly news long before anything actually happens

Survivalist and Maniac are not mutually exclusive terms
