President Barack Obama plans to speak to the nation's schoolchildren on Sept. 8. According to the U.S. Department of Education, the speech will be about "the importance of persisting and succeeding in school," and the department is offering classroom materials to "engage students and stimulate discussion on the importance of education in their lives."
You might think that would be a harmless topic, and that people across the political spectrum could agree on the importance of education.

It seems like we're supposed to pledge allegience to Obama now, not our country.
If the goal was to serve our country, and to make America great again, to help eachother out like we did back in the 40's, I'd be 100% on this bandwagon.

Can you give me some more specifics on the "I Pledge" video? Who, exactly, put it out? I am guessing a group of liberals who probably support most of Obama's programs.
This kind of following among young people, much like the ones on this video, was clearly evident in the 2008 campaign, when so many volunteered their time and effort to getting Obama elected.
What so many antagonists do is blame Obama personally for everything every follower ever does or says. Nobody did this to Republican presidents.
My overall reaction to the vid was I was impressed by the energy and desire for public service. It's time people were inspired in this way. I do not see it as some vicious, hideous, fascist propaganda to encourage people to "do unto others as ye would have them do unto you."
