For those of you who say "Magic is not real" you have a very narrow understanding of what "magic" really is. There is, of course, the common sense of college aged "witches" preforming "spells" but, more often than not, this is store bought pagan spirituality.

"Magic", for lack of a better term, was and is the art of worshiping, often in a religious sense, a god or entity which has the power to fulfill a given desire. In many ways even the Christian religion can be considered a "Magical Religion" as much as you can attach the same label to Egyptian or later Graeco-Egyptian religions, of which a few of the latter influenced early Christianity.

"Magic" is also at the root of the Judaic or Abrahamic tradition. Magic runs through the most important elements of Judaism and has been a major element in the entirety of it's history. The Temple of Solomon was a place for high ritual magic and was the only place where the sacred true name of God, the Tetragrammaton, was spoken.

Names of Power, as they are called, are at the heart of all ritual magic and to deny their effectiveness is to display ignorance and a closed mind. When Christians invoke the name of Jesus and ask him to fulfill a prayer they are using a name of power to invoke a particular force or entity to help them achieve a certain desire or goal. This is even truer for rituals such as The Holy Mass, which is obviously high ritual magic.

The Bible itself is rife with magic and King Solomon himself was known to be a powerful magician and demonologist, often invoking both angels and demons to acquire the knowledge he was so well known for. Moses spoke powerful words to make the sea part. Even the names of angels refer to their knowledge of the most powerful names. Ritual magic was one of the things taught to man by the Grigori when they descended and created the Nephilim. It was the imparting of this knowledge that most angered God causing him to flood the Earth as we know from the story of Noah.

The first line of my signature, taken from an ancient book, "Sicut canus ignotos, semper allatrant" says it best:

"As dogs bark at strangers, so do people hate that which they don't know"

You may have ignored thousands of years of wisdom and chosen to venture through the world ignorant of, and at the mercy of, the forces at work in your life but I have seen Magic's effectiveness proven to me on multiple occasions for both good and ill, creation and destruction.

I quickly explain my view of it, I leave it to you whether you understand it (my opinion) or not:

Black magician is not necessarily evil (I explained before that I don't regard anything to be black magick, but rather the way of using this unknown force in black or white way). Most of starting practicioners are black magicians; it is like they would be children, whom do not know the rules. They break the laws which they don't comprehend. It is almost like cruising overspeed, and once stopped by officer, they'll excuse: "Sorry, but I couldnt read, hence I couldn't know the speed limit.".

But I guess the ignorance isn't excuse, as it isn't with the mundane law enforcement. Once you break them, you'll have to suffer for it. Ever wonder why you have sudden back- or headache? It may be because of you have violated something you don't understand. All I say, be careful and consider carefully what you do.

All the best,

-v

Exactly, I totally agree on this with you. It is the intention that colours the magic. I don't think that apprentices are performing black magic, because their intentions can be good. However, I agree with you that their lack of knowledge and excperience can seriously backfire on them. I must admit the same happened to me 10 years ago, when I was new at this. I found out the hard way that the spell worked, but the events that led to that, were by no means what I had hoped them to be. That was a tough lesson to learn, but it made me very aware of the power of magic and the importance to handle it with care.

Glad you found it out before something really bad happened.

Today I understand - speaking in this context - that I were kind of a black magickian throughout my teenhood altho I never practiced magick and spells in a conscious way. Way I see it, thinkin ill of someone is already a deed of the dark side

All the best,

I agree. Also, it is very contaminating to your own energy as well, all these negative thoughts.

DarknessFollows, I have a question for you since you seem very informed on the subject.

My question is: Can an aura be influenced by magic?

I think that would be possible, but what would you want to achieve?

Nothing, it's only curiosity...

Thanks for answering.

I can tell you made up your concepts here.

Green Magic, has been looked at as Money Magic, or Luck Magic most of the time. As all spells are supposed to be based in Nature.

I have a question to ask though? How come spells don't work at all?

I've done spells and it does nothing. It seems like a HUGE waste of time.

Spells do work, but they may not always turn out the way you had in mind. Maybe it is interesting to read what you tried. If you want to but is too offtopic, feel free tot u2u me.

You're joking, right?

Maybe it's unfair to think too hard about something like this, but I have some problems with the "without harm" restriction. First, it drastically reduces the scope of effective spellcraft, and second, it complicates finding out whether or not spellcraft works.

As to the first, can I conjure a Big Mac? That's rough on the cow, to say nothing of the cucumber that the pickle used to be. OK, so harm is harm to people, although I don't see how you would know that the dead cow "doesn't count."

I can't think of many ways that I could get money by spellcraft without depriving somebody else of something, which they will probably account as "harm." For example, if I bewitch the lottery, then the only way the spell could do anything is by preventing everybody else from winning. So, I can't bewitch the lottery. Nor can I have the boss like me better than my coworkers. Nor find money on the street...

As to the second, it is inherently difficult to keep track of whether I am harming anybody or not. For example, I cast a spell to get me a B+ in a math course where I am struggling. It's all the same to the instructor, so I'm golden.

Or am I? Maybe the course is graded on a curve. So, it's like the lottery: if the spell does anything, then it must deprive somebody of the B+ they were entitled to.

OK. So, I cast my B+ spell, having made sure that the grade scale is fixed. I get my grade, and it is a C. Did the spell fail, or did it work, correctly executing the "without harm" proviso?

How would I know? Maybe my B+ would have qualified me for some academic prize, thereby depriving somebody else of it. Or, maybe I would have gotten into medical school, and years from now, I would kill a patient because I can't do some calculation correctly.

I cannot know one way or the other. All I know is that I got the C. But I can always tell myself there might have been something about the B+ that would have harmed somebody.

And of course if I do get my B+, then the spell worked.

So, no matter what happens, I conclude that I am an effcetive magician, with additional self-congratulations for my shrewdness in managing my karmic debt.

This is not a criticism of you, nor of your beliefs, but just the thoughts I had about the topic.

Spells are EVERYWHERE on the net.

Go to Google and just type your request in there, and you'll get THOUSANDS of different spells for your exact problem.

(keep in mind though, they don't really work... if you need easy money the best way to get some would be to sell things you don't use.)

(I can tell you play video games, just sell them all off. And you'll make good money to tide you over until you can find a steady job.)

That's not really on topic though, try the spell thing first just for your own experience. You'll see how silly it all is.
