IRAN made a dramatic reversal on its position on its nuclear policy yesterday with an announcement it would agree to immediate talks about the status of its program.

As a US-imposed deadline approached, Iran surprised many with a change from its previous position that its nuclear program was its own concern and not an issue for the rest of the world.

It remained unclear exactly what the announcement would mean, and it was greeted with scepticism in several countries that do not believe Tehran will give full access to its nuclear facilities to international inspectors.

Iran's chief nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili, was quoted telling Iranian state television: "Iran has prepared an updated nuclear proposal and is ready to resume negotiations with world powers."

Funny thing as US deadline approaches and Israel says it's deadline is approaching also.

NOW, Iran wants to talk.

I bet they know that bomb's and missiles are on their way to Iran of they don't behave.

Well, who knows whats really going on over there. They have been cooperating and flipping the west off. I think this is all to just keep them busy, while they rush with whatever there doing. But like I said, no one really knows whats going on.

Oh brother.......if this isn't obviously a tactic to buy more time I don't know what is. This new position means nothing. The North Koreans have said the same thing and what has changed with that situation? Nothing. The band plays on. I take no sides in this whole Iranian nuclear energy situation. I see it from both sides. However, I wouldn't trust the Iranians to really want to cooperate with the West genuinely.
