I am only informing about the political situation in my country, the Czech republic. I don´t have information sources in english so I will try to find them.

Here are they (I read them, they are correct):

An unexpected constitutional crisis in Czechia

I would bet that the situation will be clarified pretty soon but the news from the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic whose headquarters are located in the town of Brno, Moravia sounds pretty shocking.
All the big and not-so-big parties have begun the campaign for the early elections on October 9th-10th, 2009. Except that the Constitutional Court has just decided that early elections and all the laws that allow them - and that shorten the mandate of the current Parliament - are unconstitutional, despite the fact that the bill about the early elections has been adopted as a constitutional bill.

What happened?

Mr Miloš Melčák was elected as a deputy for the social democratic party in 2006 except that much like a dozen of similar deputies in recent years, he has "betrayed" the bulk of his party by allowing the center-right government to exist. Obviously, he was kicked out of the social democratic party. The "traitors" are being punished in a straightforward way: the parties won't include them on their list so they will lose their job and feeding troughs right after the following elections.

The source ...

The worst thing is, we have rumors and news from our MSM partialy, Free Bloggers and conspiracy sites (like by me hated OSUD.CZ, which wants fees for their stuff, thank God for ATS
). Trust me, the things in my country are more than often bad, but this time they got from bad to worse.

We have following informations:

1) Two weeks ago the local MSM ... NOVA TV, ČTK (Czech Television Channels ... ČT1, ČT2, ČT24 ) reported that we found as two russian FSB (the succesor to the infame KGB) agents (in the news is now that even 5-10 agents, with the backup of more than 100 "dormant" ones = that means we don´t on what they were working), to that time working only as informants to their goverment on our goverment, were funding the anti-ami (anti-american = loving Russians, compasionated with radical islam terrorists ... combination of old revengeful communists, young teenage communo-fascists and 20% of left-wing citizens) folk that was protesting against the US anti-balistic radar base (500 marines) to be built in the Brdy military training area. We expelled those two ... in revege the Russians will expell our ones too.

The source ...

... now the thriller comes ...

2) they were also supposedly funding (bribing) M.P. Melčák and his escapades with the constitutional court and the whole mess. Melčák did it out of revenge or more probably because of the money that he won´t get ever his hands on it as a politically-dead person.

3) Everything the Russians now want is the intervention of the normally "disobedient" but powerless President, which has an "agent-colaborator" nick name in old StB (Communist counter-inteligence service between 1948-1989, working also in foreign countries spying on emigrants) agent lists: nickname ... Vodichka
Václav Klaus was able to destroy the original file in the turmoil of 1989 but forget the existence of a copy that was send to the secret document library of the FSB (now Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR)) in Moscow. They are black-mailing him probably or he is actively working for them.

I think that now most of you can follow me about what I am talking. The Ruskies want probably take over my coutry in an old-fashioned way.

They are more than gradually p....d-off at us, because we were their loyal rectum-alpinist servants for more than 60 years and more the Russians haven´t forget the idea of panslavism (the idea from the romantic period about that all Slavs should live together under the rule of the Russians).

Thanks for reading, mods feel free to move to another thread.
It´ my theory only, before you begin your flamewars. To mods ... the word rectum is and was for 2000 years a term in medicine and only secondly a word of insultance.

Durabys, signing off.

Well, I can't say what Russia is planning, but there is definitely something going on. Personally, I can't see them taking over the Czech Republic, due to the EU. If the Russians, were to try and takeover the Czech Republic, and stuff got serious, I'm sure there not going to just walk right through Ukraine, and Slovakia. They will have to get hostile with all the border nations.

I was born in Romania. I live in the U.S.A. but without a second thought, I would go back to my home country and defend it, and other European nations, who are being bullied/attacked by Russia. But I just can't see Russia waging war with an EU nation. It will have to bring in all of the EU in it, and perhaps other western nations. The ratio of population of the EU and Russia is near 4.9 to 1.4.

The EU will soon put in the constitution that many are debating on. With the constitution comes someone to enforce it, and protect the EU, an Army. I feel that some who think the EU is bad, don't see the things that the elite in Europe do. Lets say Russia was to go to war to take back Ukraine and Belarus, then those countries allies could back them, and Russia might bring in theirs, and it could turn into another world war.

But lets say that a united Europe is present, then Russia in this case would most likely not attack anyone in the union. I think of it as an opposition to divide and conquer. Europe, does not want the old Soviet Russia back. I've heard of the "Panslavism" theory before, its interesting that you bring that up. I guess that could motivate Russia to do some things. Hopefully peaceful.

This makes me sooo sad!

We visited Russia a few years ago and it was one of the BEST places we have gone. The Russian People we met were fantastic = friendly and helpful, kind and generous.

I felt "At Home" (in the smaller villages not necessarily Moscow) - I felt Welcomed - if that makes sense.

We have also visited Prague - stayed a week in a condo and we LOVED every minute of it!

Again everyone we met were so friendly and helpful.

We drove all around CZ REP and Slovania and we would all go back in a heartbeat! It was a Russian Riverboat trip that took us from Moscow to St Pete - with stops along the way.

That is why this makes me so sad. The PEOPLE there have the same problems with TPTB as we (in the USA) have and if left on "our" own would all get along wonderfullllllllly!!!

Good luck Durabys - beautiful Country and people you have (are)

a war with the ukraine and georgia again i could see, with the czechs not so much. not because they are in the EU, im not so sure other EU nations would come to the aid of the czechs if attacked, i think theyd follow a policy of apeasement to the russians but the czechs are so deep inside europe, they wouldnt risk it. that said, they are also still messing with the poles as well... and you have the tension with the whole arctic thing as well.. russia is definately trying to assert itself and feels more aggresive after the passiveness of the west in the august war of last year... i think a war with the ukraine would be most interesting to watch cause i believe the ukrainians would be a match for the russians..

Yes, only big problem with everyones arguments up there is that we were betrayed as an nation more times than anyone else.
And because of that we trust no one ... does you remember the name Chamberlaine from your history lessons. Do you can understand that the West will poo into it´s pants in the first place when the next world war is about to happen, and only a while after that it will roll into action, already after the damage has been done. We will be sold anyways.
But with an american base, the russians would have think twice to attack us. Panslavism or not, they would commit nuclear suicide if attacking.
Why do you think both US administrations have been a bit of reluctanly debating with us the possibility of an US base ... these politician
appeacement type bastards in Washington want to have not really a backdoor but a possibility to have way how to leave the scene after Putin goes really angry. The problem is that this m.....f..... is patient, really patient.
He will come, he will see, he will win, and out of the shock the politicians will lose the ability to speech for several minutes, before calling to Kreml that "evething is fine, you can stay there indefinitely ... bla, bla, bla ..." .Your diplomats in Washington should be teached that Putin won´t allow them to bullie, controle or blackmail him in any way and that he has already put plans into motion to get rid of their "show" definitely very soon.
They are thinking to have a way how to influence Russian politics by the means of this diplomatic-political dance ... I think that from the beginning this thing with Star-Wars in middle Europe was and is a play how to play with the Ruskies and not to help us anyway.

Im not so sure that Russia wouldn't be all that hesitant to wage war with the EU over this. Remember they have powerful aggrements with the likes of China and other Asian powers in form of the Shanghai Cooperative. This is Asia's answer to Nato and will by their own words defend their collective interests. It's scary to see just how far this world is falling so fast into the realm of "no return" and the control of the masses by the hands of the few.

Time Out - who began with WAR. There are other, deceptful , peaceful and covert means how to make it.

I was thinking that they destabilize us first (USA CIA like I mean ... Chile 1953 or SSSR GRU like ... Afganistan 1980, Central Africa the 70´, or Poland after WW2). Change public opinion (AJAX ... Iran,
"semi-occupation" of Finland after WW2 ... they had also an KGB agent president Urho Kekkonen between 1 March 1956 – 27 January 1982 ohhh).
After that slow but steady assimilation (it´s happening now ... all ground around Brdy was bought up by Russian "biznismen"-agents-mafia ... Karlovy Vary were bought up too completely ... and so on .....)

I agree - but the Leaders of the countries are NOT the People!

I don't really like the Leaders of the USA - but this is where I live and have many friends and family here.

My point - and the reason it makes me feel so SAD = The PEOPLE of every country we have visited (and lived in) are generaly AWESOME!

If governments would get out and leave the People Alone - we would have a Much Better World!

I don't think Russia would hesitate either, the Russian Army alone is bigger then all EU member nation armies combined. I mean my local police department is bigger then the active duty components of most of the Baltic nation armies.

These numbers include the ENTIRE armed forces (Army, Navy, Air Force, and paramilitary police, etc):

Latvia - 5,000
Estonia - 6,000
Lithuania - 15,500
Finland - 34,700
Germany - 253,430
Belarus - 65,000
Sweden - 9,300
France - 359,050 (appx 100,000 Gendarmerie Nationale)
Poland - 96,500
UK - 208,000
Norway - 23,000
Denmark - 25,000
Ukraine - 149,000

Things don't look too good. Guess they should have invested more in defense and less in social welfare programs.
