Ok, I was reading in another thread about someone that says they are from the future posting in our forum. Not that I neccisarily believe that person but it did spark the idea, If we are not able to scientifically transfer matter (so far we only have been able to teleport individual atoms in the present, but nothing of sizable mass, and not through time), would it be a possibility to transfer data? For example, if in ten years it was possible would I be able to send all the winning lotto numbers to my email in the past? I'm not looking for just yes or no answers, I'm interested in the science about it if anyone knows the information. Thanks for answers ahead of time.

Reminds me of the movie frequency.

There are some good threads here on ATS about radio waves traveling faster then light.

Here is one:
Scientist makes radio waves travel FTL

Figured that would give people a chuckle.

Yes it certainly Fup the world up for those who have internet. Just imagine, WW3 two world countries facing eachother, getting messages from the future on how to change their strategy or plans to change the results of a battle. We'd be having a cold war of information sorta. Or people would be doing what I mentioned and all trying to bet on the known winning numbers of a lotto. Each ending up with a penny apiece out of 20million.

Only a matter of time.

No pun intended

Space is time !

Teleportation - the instantaneous transportation of an object (like Captain Kirk in Star Trek) across space - may seem to be solely the stuff of science fiction. However, at the quantum level, the dream has already become a reality.

I was thinking that maybe time-travel is not physical, but people will be able to " hear " and " see " from the future and maybe the past...
Maybe it's kinda of a sensorial time travel system...

Imagine if we would discover that they found a way to watch us before the invention of the machine...
Imagine monuments and historical places watched by " distant people "...Just my 2 cents

Maybe nano-technology will be part of this?

Well one of the time travels I think is possible is mental spiritual time travel sorta like in the movies "Butterfly effect". Would be nice considering hindsight. Although it would only be in your own body in your own lifetime. It'd be interesting. Although I also think digital information time travel would be neat as well. Imagine pirate bay of the future lol. We could steal music that hasn't been copyrighted yet. Or see the internet takeover by Anonymous. Or get email from our future selves "Hey, watch out for this girl, she's bad news." lol. Could save a few lives as well. Find out how world peace is brought about and all that.
