The feeders are placed outside for the benefit of wildlife (birds), and yet when some other critter eats it, they get the death penalty?
If they are annoying your dog, get a better dog! My dog loves to chase squirrels!
As to your question, I don't think allowing a couple of extra squirrels to eat your bird food will tip the ecological balance one way or another, but it may tip Karma in your favor!
