Could be a cover to shut down the internet.
Obama has been saying that the internet is a "national security threat".

Of course the fire is real. But what better cover is there than a "real" event?

Obama has been saying that the internet is a "national security threat".
What with the town hall mtgs. going ag. the Dems, swine flu resistance building, information about FEMA coffin liners, special trains, etc. etc. this indicates that too much information is leaking out.
Just this past week there was a post indicating that another "cable mishap" could be in the offing.

The blaze is edging closer to the Mount Wilson Observatory, home to 20 television and radio transmission towers as well as fire and police communication equipment.
The fire that started on Wednesday above the exclusive community of La Canada Flintridge was only 5 per cent contained but firefighters were hopeful that they would benefit on Sunday from slightly cooler temperatures, just below 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37 Celsius). The cause of the fire is being investigated.
Los Angeles - The massive fire that has burned more than 58,000 hectares around Los Angeles was sparked by arson, California authorities said Thursday. Two firefighters were killed while battling the blaze, and police have now launched homicide investigations, officials said.
"Arson investigators have concluded that the Station Fire was the result of an arson," Forest Service Commander Rita Wears told reporters at a press conference.
The fire is the largest in the history of Los Angeles County and has destroyed 62 homes.
The arson finding came as thousands of firefighters in California continued to make gains on the conflagration. The fire is now 38-per- cent contained with full containment expected by September 15.
Wednesday, 2 Sep 09, 2:45 PDT - I regret the confusion this will no doubt cause, but we have relocated the Mount Wilson Observatory website temporarily to www.chara.gsu.edu/CHARA/MWO/index.php. My Station Fire Updates will revert back to the MWO website at www.chara.gsu.edu/CHARA/MWO/fire.php.
