The problem is Congress, both houses of Congress, with their divisive partisan politics, their sloppy legislation, and their outright opposition to the will of the American people.

My question to you is should Congress have to listen to its constituents or should they do what is best for their constituents?

If you don't vote, fine by me. It's a free country. BUT, I don't want to hear you later on complaining about how you hate the current politicians!
Ask how many Americans are in favor of Congressional term limits. I'd wager those in favor are overwhelming.

There are millions of people who refuse to participate in voting, and who have no idea of how to work around with things like national security, the economy, social issues, etc.

Yet term limits will make no difference without CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM. As long as we have lobbyist and special interest groups flooding the campaign coffers of politicians...it WON'T MATTER.
In which lifetime do you think the U.S. Congress will vote against lobbies and fat re-election campaign coffers? It will never happen if it is left to those foxes guarding the henhouse.
Because Congress is never going to vote against the river of money pouring into Washington DC. Ever.
Sure lets vote all the Republicans out... I'm Joking! I'm Joking! (Sorta, it's not like there is much of a difference in parties lately.)

Ah. That's an oldie.
Fact is, only about 1/4 of the American population actually vote, and only about half of those actually "win" a given election. So, approximately 1/8 of the American people are steering the nation's course...which may seem just fine to those who participate in the voting process.
However, when that 1/8 minority of the population starts voting us down a dead-end path to socialism or fascism or worse, and their candidates of choice claim that The American People Have Spoken, then they are perpetuating a lie of sufficient magnitude to wake up the other 7/8 of the American population.
When this happens — and I believe it is happening — I regret to inform you that the 1/8 minority must listen to the disgruntled 7/8 majority, or face extremely grave consequences.
