'Plasmobot': Scientists To Design First Robot Using Mould

Scientists at the University of the West of England are to design the first ever biological robot using mould.

This article has a creepy factor that is best just learned for one's self by reading it. Just imagine a living thinking machine that can be programmed and grown for a specific task. Weird article and strange potential applications come to mind.

This is just weird man. Remember the movie Super Mario Bros? They had a fungus that would hand them bombs, or set traps, etc.

Kind of reminds me of that movie. A mould that can be programmed to do a certain task. Now, thats innovation!

Hmmm, it would be kind of nice if my computer was able to grow itself some more computer power in areas needed like a human brain grows connections between neurons as needed.

Instead of my computer needing to be continuously upgraded to keep up with my needs, it could just grow itself bigger.

Admittedly a scary scenario if it outgrows my computing abilities and takes over from me, leaving me the subject of its desires.

Seriously creepy thought. If a computer can grow to meet your computing needs I guess you have to regulate its growth factor or it might just escape the confines of its programmed outline and look for more food and tasks on its own.

i agree with u seeing it as having lots of application and of strange uses.

This is a pretty interesting if not disturbing idea. While the initial idea is pretty harmless, when it starts learning and becoming more adaptive, things could take a turn where the results are pretty bad for the human race. Hopefully though this will never happen.
