A Florida-based company that boasts selling the world's first and only federally approved radio microchip for implanting in humans is now turning its development branch toward "emergency preparedness," hoping to produce an implant that can automatically detect in its host's bloodstream the presence of swine flu or other viruses deemed a "bio-threat."

According to the Associated Press, despite the chips' approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, neither their maker nor federal regulators publicly mentioned a series of studies dating to the mid-1990s that found chip implants had "induced" malignant tumors in some lab mice and rats.
"The transponders were the cause of the tumors," Keith Johnson, a retired toxicologic pathologist, told AP as he explained the findings of a 1996 study he led at the Dow Chemical Co. in Midland, Mich.
The wire service says leading cancer specialists reviewed the research, and "while cautioning that animal test results do not necessarily apply to humans, said the findings troubled them. Some said they would not allow family members to receive implants, and all urged further research before the glass-encased transponders are widely implanted in people."

Everything happens for a reason. Don't let it get you down. It's better to die than to lose all of your right to self-determination. We who are left have a lot to fight for and we can't be sheep about it. We're going to have to win our lives back in the way we want to live. No more living by the sword only to die by it. We live in peace, we decide ourselves how things go every step of the way. This chapter is not for the faint of heart.
But VeriChip has also turned its attention to other uses for the technology, including microchips that be used to tag and log human remains after a disaster and implants the company hopes will be able to warn if their host is infected with the H1N1 swine flu virus, the H5N1 bird flu virus or other pandemic agents deemed to be a "bio-threat."

Guarentee you I won't have one of the above implanted in me. This has been predicted many times here on ATS, and it looks like steps are being taken for that prediction to come true.
