humans from another planet are the "aliens"?

We always think about an UFO landing, and some crazy alien comes walking out.
whether its a grey...a reptoid...or something DIFFERENT.
but what if...the spaceship lands...and all that comes out is a REGULAR HUMAN MAN...the exact same as us (just obviously more evolved).

Imagine how you would feel? we always seem to think something "different" is going to emerge. But always overlook the simple fact of just a human emerging.

Not to go into too much detail cause im a bit tired, but i have read a few stories/bible passages/Sumerian text's that somewhat state that men are living on other planets.

Evolution isn't a ladder to complexity or some subjective goal though. If they were "more evolved" than us, then they wouldn't look human. The Amoeba Dubia has a genome 200 times larger than ours, and the Chimpanzee shares 96% of it's genes with us. Morphologically, it seems the Orangutan may be a more closely related despite the greater DNA divergence, as some studies into the fossil record seem to suggest.

Evolution is a sculptor continually changing forms from which the environment then selects for reproduction, or deletes before reproduction. There is no higher or lower, and the environment changes slowly - so what was beneficial yesterday may be deleterious tomorrow so to speak.

Further, small variants in environment between planets over a long evolutionary history would realistically preclude a similar phenotype from developing, especially in the same galactic neighborhood at the same time, even if certain evolutionary motifs are promoted between "similar" environments (opposable thumbs, bipedalism, bilateral symmetry, endothermic, etc). It's the same reason we never see two exactly similar dialects arise separately and independently in two separate and isolated groups.

So if a human got off the spaceship, I'd have to conclude that it's a disguise/illusion masking a true form, or it's a descendant of ours traveled back in time to our period. The fossil record or geological record doesn't support the concept of early human space-faring civilizations.

For the sake of argument though, even if it was morphologically exact to humans - if we could verify that it's species did evolve on another planet and were not a "human colony" of some kind planted by other aliens... then it wouldn't be a human no matter how much it morphologically appeared to be so. It would have followed a different line of descent from different ancestors than us, and thus, not be a part of our human family.

... even if the alien were from a "human colony" from which contact was lost after a societal collapse, enough time has passed that we'd probably see unique physical traits emerge from them not shared by us. Evolution works faster, after all, in smaller isolated populations prevented from interbreeding with the main population.

That's a definite possibility considering the galaxy alone is a pretty big place to start with.

How did these individuals get here without the use of light speed travel, simple the astral plains.

i know this is hard for some people on ats, but its called an imagination. Put aside your make believe scientific facts you BELIEVE to be right, (in 50 years most likely will be proven wrong) and stay on topic

I'll just get up from my "Make Believe" chair, step away from my "Make Believe" computer, take off my "Make Believe" clothes, step out of my "Make Believe" home which has "Make Believe" central air, pass by my "Make Believe" car, and head on out the very "Real" cave where I can bang rocks together and then you and I can use our "Imaginations" to dream up all kinds of other "Make Believe" junk that has no basis in reality what-so-ever.

Phylogeny is a refinement of Taxonomy, which has been around since the ancient Greeks over 2,000 years ago. Linnean Taxonomy has been around for several hundred years. Evolution's been around for 150 and only ever been confirmed and reconfirmed over and over again even in the face of powerful new discoveries such as DNA and Genetics.

But oh... yeah... 50 years and it'll be all old hat and overturned. Hmm.

Tell you what. How about you drop the hypocrisy and ingratitude, step away from that computer and internet which SCIENCE provided you, go sit in a cave somewhere. While you're in there, "Imagine" real hard about what it's like having a computer and internet again. See how fast that gets you back online.

Or how about next time, if you don't want reality interfering with your utter fantasies, just step back, close your eyes, and "Imagine" that you made a post on ATS. Then you can "Imagine" all the stars and flags you'd get and all the wonderful posts telling you how awesome you are.
