I always find 8 - 10 hours works perfect for me. The only time I stay up late these days is when I'm sat up reading on ATS all night long
(every night)

I like the last one, that's my excuse

10 hours for me is the time my body needs. I sleep less and feel me tired.

Nice thread.

I thought that it was 6-8 hours of sleep was enough for the average adult.

I get various amounts of sleep, sometimes 4 hours, sometimes 7 hours. Depending if my dog lets me sleep all night.

I do know this. It always feels good to sleep in after 32 days of waking up at 5:30am. Straight.

1. I get four, six max, anymore then that then I end up not being able to sleep for 24 hours and you see me on ATS all night long. Ask Republican08.

2. Yea its more healthier, because you wake up feeling blah and you don't want to do anything.

3. Hi.

4. Waking up during the night means I'm not going back to sleep. After I wake up then I'm up.

5. Maybe, I just stay up until I'm tired and then go to sleep. If it takes 2 days then it takes 2 days. No naps are a great way not to have insomnia.

6. If you don't have a wife, dog, kids or loud neighbors.

Well...I guess that's true enough. True enough for ATS anyways. I have an uncommon sleep disorder related to sleep apnea which causes me to wake up frequently during the night. I usually get around 4 to 5 hours of sleep a night and I'm perfectly fine. I refuse medication because well, frankly I dont need it. Sometimes I will get up to 10 to 12 hours on rare occasions. I am finethen as well....I guess there are always exceptions huh

I love sleep

The bed is a bundle of paradoxes, we go to it with reluctance, yet we quit it with regret.

Can't remember who said that but its so true.
Its said that without sleep we would eventually die.
I disagree with this.
Without dreams we would eventually die.

Last year i went four days without sleep, never felt so bad in all my life

Hmmm interesting.

I do believe that without sleep we would die. I believe that is what recharges our life force. I look at it as "subconcious meditation".

Thats interesting , I heard that if you didn't dream you would go mad.
When your sleeping is when your mind sorts out all the things you've done that day etc and processes them , subconsciously I suppose , puts things into a coherent order .
I guess thats where the saying "sleep on it" comes from , if you have some problem on your mind and not sure what to do about it , it usually sorts itself out after a good snooze .
Subconscious mind doing its thing
