MSNBC edits footage to mislead viewers

While I don't see the problem, apparently it's common practice to edit footage in order to further your position, heck, Fox has been doing that and a lot more for years.

Well to be fair, there were two guys there with an AR-15. One was black, the other white.

To be fair about what? The MSNBC footage of the black man is cropped in such a way you cant tell hes black. They are then using that edited footage (along with the white man footage) to make an argument that these are white racists who don't like a black president.

They obviously crop it so that the viewer doesn't know it was a black man. More than likely , because it would put a kink in their racial spin.

I do agree. However, there's a difference between an intimidation by showing unwillingness to conform to unconstitutional standards and intimidation by threatening violence or violent acts.

That is the whole point. Sometimes violence is the only logical path to chose when those who think of themselves above the common American citizens who voted them into office refuse to represent them.

Just as long as you consider MSNBC to be a Editorial channel, not a news channel. They claim to be a news channel however, that's the problem.

they all claim to be news channels, the fact that they all have so much time dedicated to discussion panels suggests they are more about editorial opinion than they are about news.

just so long as you remember that they are all just trying to keep the numbers high so they can sell advertising time, you should have a fairly good grip on the realness of the pap they all seem to pedal.

if they thought the public would prefer to watch pachyderms on tricycles the 2012 election would be decided based on who's trunk was the biggest.

The Second Amendment Foundation as called out MSNBC to fire all those involved with this misleading reporting.

BELLEVUE, WA – The Second Amendment Foundation today accused MSNBC of using deceptively-edited video from a Phoenix, Arizona anti-tax rally on Monday to invent a racial stereotype in its on-going effort to demonize and marginalize American firearms owners as “racists.”

But by raising the racial issue in this context, bloggers claimed that MSNBC was purposely misleading viewers by not showing that at least one African-American man has also carried a gun to an event.

An MSNBC spokesperson responded to POLITICO: "Contessa was speaking generally and not about that specific person with the automatic weapon."

UPDATE: Bill Wilson, president of Americans for Limited Government, is now calling on MSNBC to fire those involved with the broadcast.

I love how MSNBC continues to mislead, even in their responses to this charge. There were no "automatic weapons" at the rally. I also love the excuse they give.

" But Brewer did specifically cite an unidentified African-American man who attended a protest outside of a Monday speech by President Obama:"Yesterday, as President Obama addressed the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Phoenix, a man at a pro-health care reform rally just outside, wore a semiautomatic assault rifle on his shoulder and a pistol on his hip."

How in the world does that excuse address they're editing of video and misleading racial accusations?
