There are so many secret societies that are discussed here and else where. Most if not all are somehow related to TPTB.

We have the NWO, Illuminati, skull and bones, bilderbergs etc etc etc. The common thread in all of these is their relationship to the PTB.

Does anyone know of any secret group/s that are actually made up of the non-powerful everyday people? I realize asking for the name of such a group or groups would be futile as that would defeat the secrecy. Also jeapordize whatever mandate they may have. I am not really referring to militia type groups who are preparing to fight, but more along the lines of covert intelligence vs. armed force.

I would like to think that perhaps there are some concerned citizens out there who believe that there are groups such as the NWO who control many if not all things. And that these citizens have managed to band together to investigate the possibility of a PTB and to monitor, or work together to delay/stop/block the PTB groups from succeeding.

Do you think if such a group were formed that the powers would quickly find out and forcefully disband them?

Stands for "The Powers That Be" or "Powers That Be".

It means the people, governments, or entities that are currently in control of the world or the current system being talked about.

Yes or they would attempt to infiltrate them like some government undercover ops have tried to infiltrate anti-war protesters.

However, since you knew it was coming you may be able to pull the rug out from under them. Then again I predict that said group, waiting to be infiltrated, would be a highly paranoid group. That might not be good.

I don't think it's a matter of secret organizations. It's just the way that capitalism functions. Capitalistic society, by definition, creates a wealthy elite class that runs everything, and everybody else gets screwed.

Just look at the current health care debate. Those on the left want everybody to have insurance coverage, and the only way to do it is by instituting a public plan and providing folks with Medicare. This would cut into the insurance corporation's outrageous profits, so they've instituted a multi-million dollar smear campaign against people who are just trying to make sure that everybody can see a doctor when they get sick. It's preposterous and immoral to the extreme, but just another day in the life of capitalism.

I guess this post was aimed more toward those who believe in NWO type secret organizations. Not simply capitalistic elite class, but those who are pulling strings in the shadows including government control etc.

There are alot of smart people out there who are not part of the "elite" or "PTB", many such people on this site I am sure, who I could see banding together for the good of the people. Perhaps in the past, such groups have gone on to revolutionary movements.

In at least one such case you cite, that group was the Masons. All the Masons on ATS have said again and again that Freemasonry is not NWO elites pulling the strings in the shadow government. But most people on ATS don't listen to us, and I don't know where you fall in that particular argument, so I'm not going to make any assumptions about your take.

I think what you will find is that the alleged 'PTB' being a function of some natural occurring process within organized society are going to be members of ALL societies, whether secretive or not.

People see what they want to see, and if they want to see that 'TPTB' only hang out in secretive societies, then that is what they will see.

But truth be told, there are probably more evil cabal babies blood drinking untouchables in rotary than there are in Freemasonry.

Actually I purposely left out masons from the PTB groups I mentioned. For the reasons you mentioned. The problem with freemasonry is its link to the illuminati historically in theory.

If people stayed off the grid in terms of communication with each other regarding their collective ideas and plans to defend against the "elite", I would think it fairly difficult to infiltrate such a group.

It's true that there was a loose link between Freemasonry and the historical Illuminati, but I don't personally see this as a problem. It's important to remember that the actual historical Illuminati were not elites, but were themselves regular people who were fighting the status quo for their freedom.

The Illuminati came about as a reaction against a dictatorial government and even more dictatorial church. The Illuminati had wanted to establish freedom of religion and speech, and basic equal equal rights, and were themselves trounced by TPTB. They were scapegoated and demonized by the Church in a manner comparable to swiftboating. In your original post you asked if a secret society could exist of normal folks who fought for what's right: ironically, the Illuminati filled that function to a very large extent.

that is one thing I can't get. The people who bash Freemasons, always want to lump us in with the Illuminati and yet I can't see how either is a bad thing. The Templar Knights helped people, the masons help people, and the Illuminati was made up of people who needed help. How is any of that bad? I think it's just a huge amount of paranoia and fear of what they don't understand. It's sad that some will never know the truth because they are so blinded by fear.

I have never understood the reason behind hating the historical Illuminati. They were a bunch of free-thinkers who wanted to discuss theories, ideas etc... without getting persecuted by the loving mother church. Most of what they talked about is common knowledge now. They talked of science, physics, philosophy and other topics as well. Obviously they wouldn't be meeting and talking about these idea's in public and would not discuss it with everyone. Knowing this they would have made a group that would meet in secret to save their heads, but still be able to have open discussion and lectures.

Not so much a problem, but there exists a mystique surrounding the Illuminati and by association so to freemasonry.

I believe any time you have a group who either goes against the grain or by nature of the beast becomes separated from the "ordinary" people, those people will begin to demonize them.

The illuminati, freemasons and templars suffer this animosity. However on this board exists masons trying to separate themselves from the illuminati which I don't helping masons much due to the loose history between them, if people believe the illuminiati are evil they will automatically say the same of masons.
