KABUL — It is the open secret no one wants to talk about, the unwelcome truth that most prefer to hide. In Afghanistan, one of the richest sources of Taliban funding is the foreign assistance coming into the country.
Virtually every major project includes a healthy cut for the insurgents. Call it protection money, call it extortion, or, as the Taliban themselves prefer to term it, “spoils of war,” the fact remains that international donors, primarily the United States, are to a large extent financing their own enemy.
“Everyone knows this is going on,” said one U.S. Embassy offi

Allow them to mix, migrate and interact with their own kind, eventually you will eradicate the complete generation, although the ideology requires more funds and resources, but in due time, that too can be manipulated.

It would be easy to guess that some of the sources of the funding are immigrants from the region sending money "back home", but the most devasting truth will be the day we learn that multi-generational, born and raised Americans have determined that it is in their best interests to finance America's "enemies" to enable them to kill other Americans.

Many Afghans see little wrong in the militants getting their fair share of foreign assistance.

But its not the Government that is actually doing the funding. It's private citizens who want to run/own/be in control of the government that have built up a private army to fight against official US forces.
Infiltrators and corruptors who are within the government, but its not government business to give money to the Taliban. Its some kind of Civil War in the United States...but one side of the war doesn't want itself to be revealed.
I wonder if this is where Bernard Madoff's $65 Billion disappeared to? Its not like investigators ever found cash or property reaching anywhere near that large a number and it would seem that financing a war that hasn't ended yet could eat up $65 Billion quite easily. 150 years in the booty house was a sweet deal for that guy if my hunch is correct.
