The 1990s saw the rise and fall of the virulently antigovernment "Patriot" movement, made up of paramilitary militias, tax defiers and so-called "sovereign citizens."

They're back. Almost a decade after largely disappearing from public view, right-wing militias, ideologically driven tax defiers and sovereign citizens are appearing in large numbers around the country.

One law enforcement agency has found 50 new militia training groups — one of them made up of present and former police officers and soldiers.

After perusing a couple of newspaper articles and heir respective threads, I figured it's time to get our propaganda straight from the horses' mouths.

A key difference this time is that the federal government — the entity that almost the entire radical right views as its primary enemy — is headed by a black man. That, coupled with high levels of non-white immigration and a decline in the percentage of whites overall in America, has helped to racialize the Patriot movement, which in the past was not primarily motivated by race hate. One result has been a remarkable rash of domestic terror incidents since the presidential campaign, most of them related to anger over the election of Barack Obama.

Funny, I haven't seen any news about militias conducting domestic terror ops. Could be because I don't see much TV. There were the two idiots in Arkansas...Skinhead wanna-be's threaten Obama

But no mention of their militia unit.

Not to mention the nutjob who shot up the museum...James von Braun

Guess he was "stealth" militia too.

Authorities around the country are reporting a worrying uptick in Patriot activities and propaganda.

Does everyone say "patriot" like its a dirty word now?

Ahh, yes it is all a racist right wing conspiracy, like always.

This report made me lose all credibility with SPLC. Listening to that guy talk then have a guy saying rat people out, was more than just a little concerning.

Mean while there are radical Islamic training camps right here on our soil and not a peep about those.

Seems to me the government is afraid of it's people.

In recent months, men with antigovernment, racist, anti-Semitic or pro-militia views have allegedly committed a series of high-profile murders — including the killings of six law enforcement officers since April.
Most of these recent murders and plots seem to have been at least partially prompted by Obama's election. One man "very upset" with the election of America's first black president was building a radioactive "dirty bomb"; another, a Marine, was planning to assassinate Obama, as were two racist skinheads in Tennessee; still another angry at the election and said to be interested in joining a militia killed two sheriff's deputies in Florida. A man in Pittsburgh who feared Jews and gun confiscations murdered three police officers. Near Boston, a white man angered by the alleged "genocide" of his race shot to death two African immigrants and intended to murder as many Jews as possible. An 88-year-old neo-Nazi killed a guard at the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. And an abortion physician in Kansas was murdered by a man steeped in the ideology of the "sovereign citizens" movement.

So know if you associate with a militia, you are lumped right in their with the racists and anti-government anarchists? Didn't Hillary have something to say about disagreeing with your government?

"Since when has it been part of American patriotism to keep our mouths shut?" - Hillary Clinton

"Dissent is the highest form of Patriotism" - Hillary Clinton

"Blind faith in bad leadership is not patriotism" - Hillary Clinton

" I'm sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you're not patriotic. We need to stand up and say we're Americans, and we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration. " -Hillary Clinton

And their fanbase is jumping all over it like flies on a turd. My brother and I were LOAO at Olbermann tonight, and then he had an SPLC lawyer on pushing this. The mood got kinda somber there for a few minutes. Nobody told us that Patriots were the problem, and that exercising your second amendment protection against tyranny made you the enemy? The enemy of tyranny, sure but...

Then Olbermann chimed back up and we were LOAO again, but I made that mental note to look into this a little deeper. Plenty of nuggets there to ponder.

Anyone notice the timing of these reports at the same time the politicians swear that nobody is really upset or that it is just a small portion of Americans. Don't they realize we don't trust the media? Do they not realize they are failing to connect with the people, not the other way around? Do they not realize all the wiretapping, actions carried out under our names across the world, deception of torture occurring, failure to answer legitimate questions, is what is dividing this country, not the actions of any American? Do they not see that if they were mostly honest, and non secretive, most people would trust that they had better information to make a decision on a new law? Do they not see this?

The problem is they don't care. They have their money masters and as long as they are pleased then it is all good with the politicians.

They have nothing to fear as long as 70% of the population either takes the MSM seriously and/or is apathetic.

Bread and circuses my friend.

Going Mainstream
A remarkable aspect of the current antigovernment movement is the extent to which it has gained support from elected officials and mainstream media outlets. Lawmakers complaining about the intrusiveness of the federal government have introduced 10th Amendment resolutions (reasserting that those powers not granted to the federal government remain with the states) in about three dozen states.

There they go with those pesky amendments again!!!

Beware, ye citizens of the 36 dissenting states, your state assemblymen may be racist militia sympathizers!!!

Seeing as how all able-bodied adults are the militia in the terms and understandings of our founding fathers, I never knew the militia ever went away.

Politics is really a dead end pathway. I do not think it will lead us back to liberty and freedom. The MSM control and frame the political debate. They deem who is worthy of their coverage and you can bet that the control candidate will be the one with the camera in his or her face. They will only ever reinforce division politics to keep the people weak and unable to form a united front against their globalist corporatist agenda.

Power comes from money, guns, control of resources, and control of the media. If your group has all 4 of these then you have power. If your group has only one or 2 of these things then you will be made out to be the enemy of the state if you try and make any changes back to liberty and freedom. That is just the way it is.

The only way back to a free republic based on liberty, personal responsibility, and the rule of law is for those who are opposed to these tenants to be removed from the field. That can only be accomplished by exposing them and their game as too corrupted to repair and then replacing them with more credible and less corruptible leadership.

That is going to prove very tough this late in the game. The Militia movement is far too fractured to form any kind of united front. The Patriot movement which is closely related is more united but is highly infiltrated by agent provocateurs since they are for the most part more public.

Protesting is like a child stomping their feet and yelling at their parents. It is useless and will simply draw attention to you and likely get you punished.

It will take real serious money backing technologically and ideologically superior forces that are united and serious to affect change we can really believe in.

I have been around for a while and I have to say I never thought I would see the government grow to such a massive size and grow to such a totalitarian level in the United States. I also remember that guys like Ronald Regan liked to talk about shrinking the size of government and then went on to grow the government larger than ever before. You just can not trust a politician to change things. They just don't have the power to really do it and they are easy to corrupt and intimidate by the real power of this world.
