Townhaller Schools MSNBC Host on Obama's Single Payer quote

Yet another reason not to watch this crap pile of a network. Watch as MSNBC's Laurence O'Donnell blatantly lies. Hes either really out of touch, or it just lying and hoping the audience will choose to beleive him. Either way this is just pathetic.

ABRAM: I don't believe it because I heard him say on a quote, on television, that, you know, it may take 5 or 10 years but we will move to a single-payer health, or single-payer-

O'DONNELL: He, Katy, he's never said that. He has never said we will move to a single-payer plan.

Does that change the fact that the interviewer in the first video lies about what Obama said and then in the second video the proof is given?

No he didn't say it, after being elected. That is actually correct in this case.

What Obama said as a senator or a presidential candidate doesn't count now because he hasn't said it as president of the united states?

I'm not sure which bothers me more, the fact that MSM news is right, because he hasn't said it as PRESIDENT, or the fact that they didn't report it when he DID say it before the election.

It is also more than telling here, because we only hear about this AFTER he was elected and health care reform became a major issue, and problem because the true agenda has revealed itself to the American people.

That network is one pathetic excuse for news. Obviously, their corporate parent, GE, stands to make billions by its non stop butt kissing of Obama. They will make a fortune if cap and trade or the healtchcare bill pass. If they both pass I guess we better all run and buy GE stock.

No no, you misunderstand me. I'm a journalist and I cannot stand Fox News. Anytime they report on something I'm very knowledgeable about, they get everything wrong. Believe me, I'm in no way, shape, or form defending Fox news here. I'm simply saying there may be a few redeemable qualities to Fox (I'll go in to more in PMs if you want), but what we have here is just pure propaganda skank.

MSNBC is so in the tank for Obama, that they have an open instant message line to MSNBC on the Morning Joe show, to send them any updates or corrections to anything that was said. Occasionally, Mika, the daughter of Obama's political mentor, Zbigniew Brzezinski, screws up and actually mentions that she just got a correction from the White House.

Of course it doesn't surprise me though, this crooks will do anything to earn a buck, I guess it doesn't matter what the law is when you are above it.

I feel bad for this woman in the interview it seems like the talking head lied to her before they went on air, you could tell she got really uncomfortable when he started talking about medicare and everything. Speaking of which maybe somebody should clue this guy into about how it is already bankrupt.

I noticed something about this woman though, it seems like she just one day connected all the dots. Or somebody connected them for her. Her comment about always being at war she definitely didn't get that from a talking head.

I cant figure out why these people agree to go on that network, other than ignorance of whats going to happen to them. Its obvious MSNBC has been bringing these people on in order to discredit and smear them. Both Mathews and O'Donnell have been MSNBC & Obama's personal attack dogs.

She schooled MSNBC? That's a laugh. I was watching it. He made her into a joke. She said, "I saw it on TV". She didn't say I heard Obama say it. Did you notice how she dropped it right away? I'll tell you why. She saw Glenn Beck say Obama said it. She knew she was a hair's breadth from having to admit that. "They told me Obama said it" was right there on the tip of her tongue.

I felt sorry for her when she had to keep saying that she wasn't very smart and knew nothing about politics etc. I can't believe I saw this topic this morning. You really have to be kidding. Talk about spin, this takes the cake. The right is lying about health care for political gain and this poor woman is one of the victims trying to stand up for what they believe in based on a ton of lies they have been told.

As far as your clip goes, it isn't about this bill. Obama did speak of a single payer health care system but he backed off that a long time ago. I saw someone mention propaganda above. That's exactly what this thread is. Propaganda, twisting things to further an agenda, an agenda that will deny health care to the poor and elderly of this country in order to keep the insurance companies at 8 billion dollar profit a year.
