By the same token, it is why people who cried about Bush destroying the Constitution are silent about Obama doing the same thing.

I liken Obama's refusal to produce the long form to a used car salesman that refuses to produce the CARFAX report on the lemon he wants to sell you. He's hiding something, and so is Obama.

Obama has what, 11.5 % black in him? Technically from what I have heard he doesn't even qualify as black except in apperance. (yea I know, it's 4 something in the morning and I can't spell apperance right.)
If any one has the actual percentages on his race please post them, I can not seem to find them again.

It certainly seems to be around here. Also I'm neither of those three so why would I care? And I'll continue to throw the racist card, when I see a racist penalty.

Apologies. I was being overly sensitive I guess (it happens on occasion ) probably because I have felt the harsh face of racism myself. Unlike some, as a light-skinned Hispanic who speaks English with no accent, it usually comes as a surprise; so I get edgy when the topic of discussion gravitates towards my being grouped with that ilk.

I will tell you though, I feel conflict and am somewhat disappointed that it is taking a common political form...,

It is similar to the so-called Health Care debate that is ongoing now. You see lot's of people are out there claiming that x or y is an outrageous component of the bill. Others are calling them liars and ignorant. Yet neither group acknowledges that there is no bill yet, there are drafts and versions and no one can certainly be sure that they are aware of all the contradictions and differences between them, AND HERE'S THE KICKER - political opportunists and ideological jesters SEIZE the disconnect and inflame and exacerbate the emotions and partisan friction to 'create, foster, and otherwise sensationalize' the disagreements. Thus no real debate gets to take place, and many earnest citizens who have a legitimate cause to inquire or discuss the matter are left with a nasty unmanageable confrontation.

I feel the same is done by some with the BC issue, using the ever-tender weak spot 'race' as a fan to stoke the fires and angst.

I don't appreciate spending all this time having to simply say that just because I feel this is an unresolved matter doesn't mean I give a rat's a$$ about the guys heritage or color, or religion, or whatever. What's important to me is understanding why it is taking so long to resolve.

There could be a point at which I will decide that the point is a distraction from more serious matters, and I am not moving away from that point. I could have been, had the piece of paper, simply been produced.

BTW, I am among those who feel that he is not 'one of us' anymore than Bush was 'one of us' or any of the political parties' social-club members. Like Rome of old, these people don't get to this point in their political careers without 'patrician' sponsorship. I find that distasteful, since we are all schooled to believe - and the world naively accepts - that Americans have a choice. American's don't get a choice, they get a pre-selected set of "candidates" - the electoral college get's the choice - and if they get it wrong, or things don't go as planned, the SCOTUS chooses... as they did with Bush.

Anyway... enough of this ... SC I respect you greatly, I appreciate your frustration with the fact that racism is an element within today's political environment. While we may not agree, I feel that it is there because the political machinery USES it as a tool to manipulate the electorate, along with a number of other '-isms'. I have found however, that at least in my vicinity race is not something upon which decisions are made; it only seems to get 'used' as a means to control an argument or narrow the perceptions of the people involved.

lol really. u base him not being black because he is not 100% black lol . no one in america is 100% black are 100% anything for that matter. i myself am a mixed person. my mother is from egypt my father is african american. but im black. i get called a n***** by alot of people on the net.
back in the day the racist made this rule to identify what is black. thats when the 1 drop rule came in. you only needed 1 drop of black blood in you to be treated lees then human. to be enslaved. to be lynched by a white mob. for looking at a white women. obama is black. just like i am black and mariah carey is black(her dad is black) it dont matter if people like it or not. thats just the way it is. alot of people may say "but he is mixed so does he forget about the rest of his heritage".? no. he just identifies with his black side alot more. so that is what he claims. i identify with my black side alot more then my egyption side. so that is what i claim.
