It's not so much that people have brain damage but that parts are not exercised. A person who is taught and then accepts a concept that everything a person has to know has already been figured out for them, does not develop the type of thinking required for original thought.
Do fundamentalist belief systems infect the part(s) of the brain responsible for logic and debate?
Proverbs 9
6Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.
7He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.
8Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.
9Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

There are a few intelligent Christian posters who can follow a line of thought here, but for the most part, I am at a loss as to how to reply to many posts by fundamentalists simply because they are either (1) totally illogical, or (2) completely off topic.
Is it evidence of a failing education system? Do fundamentalist belief systems infect the part(s) of the brain responsible for logic and debate?
