A closer look into specifically what the mainstream media is, what it's interests are, and who exactly controls it, makes it much easier to
understand what's going on. That is, understand just how easy it was/is to control it, as well as the purpose served by doing so. The motivation for
this is the same as everything else these days, GREED! How massive a list of people and companies involved could there be though? Surprisingly, the
answer to that is fewer than you'd think.
Project Censored
Corporate Media Ownership
The Project Censored team researched the board members of 10 major media organizations from newspaper to television to radio. Of these ten
organizations, we found there are 118 people who sit on 288 different American and international corporate boards proving a close on-going interlock
between big media and corporate America. We found media directors who also were former Senators or Representatives in the House such as Sam Nunn
(Disney) and William Cohen (Viacom). Board members served at the FCC such as William Kennard (New York Times) and Dennis FitzSimmons (Tribune Company)
showing revolving door relationships with big media and U.S. government officials.
These ten big media organizations are the main source of news for most Americans. Their corporate ties require us to continually scrutinize the
quality of their news for bias. Disney owns ABC so we wonder how the board of Disney reacts to negative news about their board of directors friends
such as Halliburton or Boeing. We see board members with connections to Ford, Kraft, and Kimberly-Clark who employ tens of thousands of Americans. Is
it possible that the U.S. workforce receives only the corporate news private companies want them to hear? Do we collectively realize that working
people in the U.S. have longer hours, lower pay and fewer benefits than their foreign counterparts? If these companies control the media, they control
the dissemination of news turning the First Amendment on its head by protecting corporate interests over people.
118 people controlling 288 various companies is preposterous compared to what it is they have control over? 118 people controlling television, radio,
internet, film, magazines, film & tv production, music, sports, books, theme parks, publishing, retail merchandise, telecommunication, theater,
broadcasting, and more! Notice the affiliated
companies that are associated with one
another. Companies like Halliburton, Goldman Sachs, Carlyle Group, Pepsi, McKesson Pharmaceuticals, JP Morgan, GE, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Allstate
Insurance, United Health, Rand, Edison, Ford Motor, Harvard, Hilton, Home Depot, etc... on and on and on...
These aren't some of the big players, they're ALL the big players! If this wasn't bad enough, many of these media directors are retired Senators
and House Representatives? Banks, pharma, food & drink, insurance, health, weapons, retail, automotive, energy, research, chemical, transportation,
education, etc... Mainstream media is run by 118 board chairman whom also represent every single profit giant in the world today! 118 chairs that
control everything? This is beyond mind blowing! Talk about collusion, or conflict of interest!
Seeing this it's no wonder why average citizens haven't got a snowballs chance in hell? Why there's literally, complete and total corruption in
everything today? Why every major issue goes unresolved? Why banks and insurance companies get bailouts? Why wealth gets redistributed? Why homes are
repossessed? Why wages decline and prices inflate? Why wars are waged? Why courts are unjust? Why votes don't count? Every single bit of it benefits
and enriches these 118 chairmen!
We sit here debating whether or not "they" control the media? Well of course "they" do, that's what the Board of Directors is supposed to do!
This example shows how deeply intertwined government, corporate and media really are. They share a common interest in what is and what is not to be
reported by the media. They decide which stories will be broadcast and which will not. Below are lists of censored news stories that were not covered
by MSM. This data comes from the
Project Censored website where, since 1976, they have been following this
trend and documenting unreported news. This site is well worth a visit!
