Shaved-head Cops... Exposed !

I thought they did it to make themselves more aerodynamic when chasing the bad guys down. ..

Cops have short haircuts so criminals can't grab onto their hair. If you control a person's head, you control their body (martial arts).

Granted, I also think this is sort of 'police fashion' and they all try to look like each other.

They still have ears to grab, and the usual set of extra chins can be gotten hold of also.

Seems like a real sensationalist title that has zero proof othere than hearsay to back it up

Many people in the force do this do look cool and to keep criminals from grabbing hair

I know security people of dancings are stone cold on drugs and even sell it, I don't know about cops though

I thought of something else actually, I had someone say they almost hit me while I was directing traffic for an accident until they saw they shine of my head. Traffic safety is center around high visibility and a polished dome is highly visible

Couple things..

1. Shaving your head does not prevent Drug Testing companies from doing their tests. They STILL do a hair sample even if you dont have it on your head, but guess where they take it from? ARMPIT HAIR, for example, is one of the parts of the body where they take hair from. (I know because I shave my head, and when going in for a drug test, they took it from there). They can also take it from any other place on your body

2. Some people may shave their heads because they are losing their hair.
Some people look better than others with shaved heads, so they can get away with it(like me) =).
Also, I have had a shaved head since I was 18(Right when I joined the military).10 years later-I still have it shaved. Its cleaner, less hassle, aero dynamic, and the women luv to rub it =). Plus I just got used to the look.

-Plus like someone else stated earlier, along with all my tattoos, it makes me look really mean and scary.

Having the stigma of male pattern baldness, I can say this, RUBBISH
Besides the effect of genetics, it is also of common sense, police have a job where you want to limit the areas that an opponent can get a hold on you, hair being an instinctive object in any grappaling situation. Now Im not going to defend all of these folk as innocent victims of recessive male genetics, or a code of dress to keep one safe, Im sure there are a few hiding their folicals from scrutiny, and of course their is that horrible small population that it is a political statment to be shiny skulled and trim. I stand against all that I hate being pigeon holed due to my genes, and believe me I get the looks, the ones that say "you disgust me you violent racist yutz" people judge me strictly on how I look something I have spent my life fighting against in the name of others. It sucks to perpetuate a bias based on some jacka$$ that insist on usurping recessive genes to their cause.

Regarding number 1,I shaved my armpit, chest and back hair because of the type of undervest shirt we use(a thick mesh that pulls any hair it comes into contact with). They took a hair off of a sensitive are for me
