Really, using what radar?

The YF-23 would loose to the F/A-22. It is far less capable.

Now if they were to give them equal radars and weapons systems, then a production F-23 would beat a production F/A-22 hands down.

How, exactly, was it better armed? It had the same requirements placed on it as the F/A-22 did.

the f23 is larger aka can hold more fuel,has bigger engines wich means larger speed
also it had a larger munitions capacity than the f22
so not speaking technically its better armed but speaking technically there the same

Remember the YF-23 will NEVER go into service.

It was an experiment and US liked the F-22 better so YF-23 is ANCIENT HISTORY!

Its like Su-47 Berkut which Russia said that it will not be built cause it deosnt pass all the requirement of what Russia wants for a generation 5 fighter.

factory had removed already all installations required for building the prototype !

so... it is complety out of the question more YF-23 will be
coming from the assembly line

is it the english weather ? or did you mix JP7 with johnny walker black label in an extra long drink ???

God, where do you get those facts?

First of all the YF-23 actually held less fuel than the F/A-22 does. This was to accomodate all of the test equipment.

Second, it had the same friggin engines. There was a competition between two manufacturers. Both engines were tested on both aircraft and the winner was selected to power the F/A-22.

Third, it had the same weapons carrying ability. It had to meet the same requirement as the then YF-22 had to.

Fourth, I did think the YF-23 was cooler based solely on all other things being equal it was to have a smaller radar cross section and I thought it looked cooler. It also was slightly better for the possibilty of making it carrier capable.

Have you actually seen the proposed weapons load out for the YF-23? It carries the same internal load as the YF-22 did.

I agree that the YF-23 was a better choice, but I don't think you had all of the facts together when you made your call. I am just trying to show you all of the facts so that you can make an informed decision.
