The birth certificate matters because the U.S.
Constitution states:

Article II: Section 1: Clause 5:

"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

Obamas birth certificate matters!!!!

If this man is a natural born U.S Citizen then there is no logical explanation why the document is not released.

As for not believing the document if released, it will need to be reviewed by an expert that compares verifiable documents of that era to make sure the produced document is not fake.

Regardless of your stance on this there is no good reason the President of the United States with holds his birth certificate or his school records unless there is something there he does not want revealed.

Bush was a sorry specimen for a President also, so it isn't my favorite letter over another.

I want the damn truth without the BS. That is not too much to expect from these people.

Personally, I distrust Obama for my own reasons, which have to do with class war, capitalism & Obama's inaugural address in which he clearly took sides by saying:

Ok, just watched that. If indeed there is an official record (digital scan or original) of Obama's Certificate of Live Birth in Hawaii, and he refuses to release it for public viewing, EVEN THOUGH HE KNOWS MANY CITIZENS WORRY ABOUT HIS BIRTHPLACE

...and it's not the actual birthplace you're trying to hide, then what would you do?

Allow someone to have a peek and tell the world about his birthplace?

BUT, being the smart man he is (otherwise should he be prez?) he knows damn well people will simply think the Dr. Chiyome Fukino is lying...

....wouldn't it make more sense to just be honest and say he prefers that his father's identity to remain undisclosed for personal reasons?

He could then simply show the world his Long Form BC with the father's name blacked out. I doubt that would make him ineligible.

I for one, can come up with many reasons as to why he'd desire that, and would not hold him in contempt.

So perhaps the main issue at it's core is not the birthplace, but his honesty and transparancy towards the people.
For many of us, the idea that a politician or President may be a lying scumbag is no news, but I guess the rest of America has some catching up to do...
