As the sun was layed to rest.. the night time took her place
he perched himself in the mighty oak... to glance at last her face
curtains drawn but for a crack... in which he found his view
he hadn't seen her in a week... he'd had other things to do
He had missed her delicate frame ...the soft curls in her hair
he longed to go and take her... for she was a beauty rare
glad was he that moon wasn't full...the beast he could contain
he knew very soon he couldn't...wouldn't be able to refrain
the transformation was painful...man to beast was lost
he didn't care when it came to her...he'd have her damn the cost
without the beast that dwelled within...he wouldn't have the nerve
a weak little man incompetent...he hadn't a touch of verve
he watched hungrily as she undressed...he had to have her soon
three nights from now he would return... with the fullness of the moon

he hugged the treeline
blood draining from his lips
from his last meal

a black shadow was all they saw
yellow eyes reflecting the moon
against the white cracking snow

his footsteps made no sound as he ran
the firtrees covered his tracks
an owl howled his secret
to the night

at length he reached the lights
and the traffic and the cars
he ordered a coffee, human now
but the waiter who looked into his
yellow eyes

saw the moon reflected
and his sharp teeth when he smiled
told the story of his recent kill,
and of a thousand bloody nights

In and out of madness, in and out of lust,
When the moon did work its magic, himself he did not trust,
Back amongst the living, a shaky step above,
He had to tell her quickly, of his forbidden love.

She had felt his presence before, and so again . . he was there,
She let her hair fall down to the middle of her back . . for him,
The robe slowly fell to the floor . . so he could see all of her,
Turning, she peered into the dark, held out her arms, and welcomed him.

Stepping from the shadows, he embraced her naked frame,
Stepping up to touch her, to stake his heartfelt claim,
He ran his hands . . over her curving hips,
planted a kiss . . on her curving lips.

And then the clouds moved away from the moon . . a bright, full moon.

the music in their hearts they heard...the beat of passions dance
two becoming one at last...he'd finally gotten his chance
he savored the very scent of her...he hungrily drank it in
caught up the moment they were...together locked in sin
beauty and the beast they were...like the tales of old
forbidden love is what they shared...their story never told

Gentle as the morning breeze...with her fragile frame
she'd tamed the savage beast...it would be her claim to fame
he swallowed the howl lodged in his throat...it was an animal need
he could contain it no longer...and released it with his seed
startled was she by mournful cry... that shattered the peaceful room
little did she know that life began...in that moment in her womb
tears rolled down her reddened face...as she opened her mouth to scream
he was no longer with her the night had called... or was it just a dream

Just a dream . . he thought,
She would never be caught . . by him.

The meekness that came with being human . . made him invisible.
He knew she wanted to be taken,
Her ways and virtue forsaken,
But she could not see him there . . she was unaware . .
Of his stare . . of lust.

It was afterall, just a dream . . he thought.

Yet the scratches across his body told him otherwise.

Something had happened ! When the clouds had moved away from the
moon . . . something had happened! She had taken him, and taken him,
and taken . . . she had been aggressively seductive right to the end . . .
when he had howled his pleasure . .the most satisfying lover he had ever
been with.

Might she be . . . one of his kind ?

Just a dream, . . he thought.

She lay in the darkness breathless....sweat covering her brow
had he come to her finally...was she dreaming somehow
no it had been real... she had waited oh so long
she had seen him watching her...she knew that it was wrong
he wasn't fully human...but neither again was she
she learned to control hers long ago...over many a century
she could still smell his scent...it lingered in the air
would he come again she thought...right now she didn't care

At exactly 12:01 A.M. , in front of a chilly, but very bright full moon, a
howling came down from the moutainside, a howling that stopped all in
their tracks.

It was terrifying . . terror with a message.

"I have found her . . . . . and I am hers."
