This past weekend it was raining and I did an experiment photographing the rain. I remember seeing plenty of shots of orbs that appear to be moving upward away from the ground and people saying that it can't be rain because rain falls downward. Well take a look at this picture:

All I had to do to duplicate the effect was to move the camera quickly downward while taking the shot, and the result is what you see. No ghosts, no orbs, simply rain..

What is this debunking exactly? It's obvious that many images with those 'orbs' are simply dust or condensation of some kind left on the camera lens, as a photographer this happens a lot especially when in certain climates. It's not always rain or someone trying to make a hoax.. however when these 'orbs' are obviously not two dimensional artifacts, or when they are actually seen moving or whatever, in that case it's probably a UFO or a nice hoax.

I agree with the above poster, this photo does debunk some photos of 'orbs' that were most likely just raindrops, just as others have debunked orbs as being dust, bugs, etc....however there are some orb photos and videos that cannot be debunked by any logical means. I have seen some spectacular videos of orb activity, weird stuff, glowing and moving like jellyfish on night vision cameras.

Beautiful photo though, those orb effects look super cool.

Just trying to sort of debunk the orbs that appear to move upward while people explain that it's impossible that it's rain because rain falls downward...

Well i've had some experience with orbs, photographing them, and video as well. I know for a fact, orbs can be mistaken for dust, moisture, rain, etc.. but there are others that clearly are not any of those things. Check out my video of what i caught, if you could see it on my camera (youtube brings quality down), you would see it comes towards the camera from the hallway, then across the wall to the kitchen

I also have many pictures i've taken, mainly inside of my old apartment. The pictures were taken with the timer on the digital camera, or by me or my Father. No trickery or photoshop is done, a couple are enhanced, thats it. I find the most fascinating the orbs in motion - s291.photobucket.com...

I am just as fed up with accounts of "mysterious" orbs on photos as you seem to be.
(Of course that doesn't mean that some aren't mysterious, or that there is a single explanation for all of them.)

But I have yet to see anyone "debunk" those orbs that I have seen "live", very clearly, with no known medical/psychosomatic conditions and/or physical phenomena to account for them. (I've described them in a post here, long ago.)

I am not trying to pick an argument. Just saying...
