I actually always thought the draft talk was BS, until a recent personal event. I am an Army reservist. However I was in a group called "IRR". It stands for inactive ready reserve. It had many functions, the main one being when you sign a reserve contract its called 6x2. You serve 6 years as an active reservist going to drills every month, and 2 weeks a year in the summer. Then for 2 years after that you go IRR. That means you don't drill, have no responsabilities whatsoever, basically they just keep your name on a list. The IRR is also used for people who for some reason have screwed up and been booted out of their units, or have some type of hardship that prevents them from fullfilling their weekend obligations. My wife and I were both in the IRR. We both got a call yesterday, the IRR is being abolished, every soldier in the IRR is to start active drilling again so the Army knows EXACTLY how many people it has. My wife says " I fulfilled my part of the contract, I did my 6 years, my contract says inactive for the last 2 years of the 6x2 contract." The response on the other end was basically "too bad, so sad." So to sum up the point of this long post (long for me anyway) the Army has now taken the steps to utilize every single person they possibly have, thats when the thought occured to me that they may be doing this to see how many people they have, so they can see how many more they need, aka "the draft" .

tripnastic,

Thanks for sharing this info.

The only reason, in my mind at least, that this would be done to "figure out the numbers available" is if they don't have a good handle on how many are dead. Hope that makes sense. Have you guys had to submit anything during your inactive period on a regular basis that would let them keep up with whether you were still breathing or not?

l agree that this would be an apparent step toward a draft.

The only thing we had to do was report for a physical once a year, and it was your run of the mill physical.

Hmmm.. Interesting theory. Don't have a whole lot to add here, but do you think it's possible they were doing something other than what you theorize? I mean can anybody else think of another reason? Thanks.

Everyone has IRR when you leave active duty. Who called you? I was active, I'm in the IRR, nobody called me! (And I hope it stays that way!)

The 6+2 is actually intended to prevent the necessity for a draft. I don't know if it has ever been discussed or argued, but it is a little known fact that any contract signed for military service, for any branch, is indeed an 8 year contract. If you sign on for 3 years active duty (which I did, initially), you sign on for 5 additional years in the IRR.

The idea is that anyone who signs up is literally obligated to service for eight years, making one subject to Uniform Code of Military Justice for the duration. This applies to desertion code, which in time of war carries a maximum penalty of death. The IRR was implemented coinciding the abolishment of the "lottery" draft. It was supposed that by passing this legislation there would always be enough servicemembers in IRR to negate the need for conscription. To my knowledge, there has been no conflict that has required the call-up of IRR personnel, but if there was, I believe there would be a public outcry. Not by servicemembers, because they are WELL informed of this particular piece of their contract (others are carfully obscured and ill-communicated), but by family members and other civilians whom are rarely informed.

From what I understand, there have lately been two bills introduced to the house, and one Amendment proposal regarding conscription or obligitory civil service of some type. I haven't looked into it, but I'm already pretty certain that bills like these are introduced to the house often, but promptly discarded.

Freshman members of congress are probably required to submit a bunch of crap bills as a kind of hazing by more senior members, and also to make sure they're up to snuff in the crap bill department...

There were two phone calls at my home. One for me, one for my wife. We are both 91d's (surgical technologists). The call came from the 89th Rsc (reserve support command) out of wichita, ks. We were told we could choose to go back to our old unit, or wait and just be assigned one.

i dont think a draft will be around for a long time with the number of people enlisting being at or above recruiting needs.

www.military.com...

excerpt from link "The Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard all met or exceeded their year-end recruiting goals for fiscal year 2003, which ended Sept. 30. The figures continued to climb in the first half of fiscal year 2004, which was reached March 31."

as a side note here, my wife just informed me that during her phone call (she's a bit more reluctant to accept this than I am) that she asked just how many people are in the IRR anyway and was told 150k. I don't know if thats true at all.

why? if theres enough troops theres no need for a draft, im wrong btw, its over 300,000 IRR also total reserve is over 1,200,000, in total forces(reserve and non reserve) there are over 2,600,000 personnel, i got this from the DOD website, its from 2002 so these numbers are alittle higher now with recruitment on the rise.

No, no oil wars. It's not as if America is taking oil as war spoils.
You could think of it as power consolidation wars. Not so much as wars that have to be fought, except as cover for the restationing of armies. You'll see the U.S. military being removed from the U.S., and otehr militaries will be stationed on U.S. soil for the controlling of "civil unrest".
The U.S. isn't controlling this.

TC, are you saying you believe the UN, or any other group, is going to try to establish some sort of martial law in the near future in the U.S?

What exactly makes you think this is what is happening?

I've been reading on NWO type conspiracies since the late 70's, newspaper articles, magazines, books, some belonged to otehrs that I returned prompty, many belonging to me that were laoned out never to be seen again, and over a span of many years, so please don't expect me to provide a link. The internet is a new place for me as I've been connected about as long as I've been at this site and I don't really go to many places otehr than here and 5 or 6 news sites, but here is what I've gathered:

There are people that have more money than they could ever spend, burn or give away. These people, families, are searching for the next step, ultimate power. Through banks and corporations and people throughout the governments of the first world nation they control indirectly the strong and civilized countries. The next thing is to dilute the populations, make their minds and souls weak, and then remove the people of fighting age by spreding them all over the globe they can place soldiers of other nations in their places. It has been a long time since I've seen it (20 years, maybe? I'm not sure), but I saw an orange peel map of teh world, and the world was broken down into sectors and it defined what nations military would be patrolling what area. I don't recall what armies wre in the States, but I believe they were from countries starting at Germany and going east. Anyway, one of the things I do remember is what made me laugh as I thought it made no logistical sense, and that was that China would be controlling the Panama Canal area. Guess who's in charge of security at the Panama Canal now. Yup.

Sounds nuts, I know. Scratch me off as some nutter and visualize me pushing a shopping cart along a sidewalk, talking to myself if you like, but there seems to be some progress toward the NWO.

No more rich people... or poor people

From now on, we'll all be the same.

Oh, wait... I gotta think about that one...
