SEOUL, South Korea — The recent aborted voyage of a North Korean ship, photographs of massive tunnels and a top secret meeting have raised alarm bells that one of the world's poorest nations may be aspiring to join the nuclear club — with help from its friends in Pyongyang. No one expects military-run Burma, renamed Myanmar, to obtain an atomic bomb anytime soon, but experts have the Southeast Asian nation on their radar screen.

Here we go again.

Must just be a coincidence that Burma has a lot of oil and natural gas.

Ah well never mind....

"There's suspicion that something is going on...

(From your news source)

Isn’t this like the cliche of the day in any news article about North Korea?

*Shakes head and moves away from article mumbling about how sick to death I am of all this ‘suspicion’ talk*

Whoever is stirring the pot is NOT concerned about North Korea.

It will be a good day when we find out what is the real reason for all this subterfuge.

If we ever do.

And I doubt we will...

*Continues on my way*...

My point is that the west always starts beating the war drum about big bad boogey men coutries wanting to gain nuclear weapons.

What if Denmark wanted to suddenly aquire nuclear weapons?

Yeah exactly.

And don't say....yes but Denmark is a democracy and Burma is a military dictatorship, bad human rights, bla bla. If it's that bad go and invade like the USA supposedly did with Iraq.

It's just sheer propaganda. Did they all sit around going, hmmmm which nasty country can we associate with North Korea?

Perhaps they opened the big bad book of countries and turned to the letter "B."

Ok, I know you didn’t mean to take a poke at Burma/Myanmar but I’ve got to stand up and say Burma is one of the most beautiful countries I’ve ever seen.

To think that land of mystery, beauty and history could be destroyed makes me weep.

Free Burma/Myanmar!

I can't even believe this news piece, I just can't.

Burma and N.Korea?

No way...

peace

EH?

That the west is now positioning itself to control any resource laden, rouge nations..

If you don't see the big picture of this, then step back and look..

This Burma thing is probably just the usual media sales boosting fear mongering though..

Myanmar is as good a place for a invasion as North Korea. Ideally, if any nuclear technology is being transfered by North Korea to any other country those ships are supposed to be stopped and the technology confiscated. However, the North Korean government has tonnes of shell companies all over Asia that conduct all their real business. These companies use CHina as a conduit to bypass sanctions etc.

I think the point would be that NK does not have oil or natural gas and would perhaps be willing to trade nuclear technology and/or materials to Burma for sorely needed fuel supplies.
