My guy, he's really short on patience. He starts things that he doesn't want to finish because first off, he never gave it much thought to begin with.
I come over and see what he's up to, and he's hammering away at something, then just stops, puts it all away, gets a couple glasses, some Merlot, and never gets back to his project again. A little while later, yet again another project is on the scrap pile ready to get thrown in the fire. But I don't mind. As long as one day he finds something he really wants to do...then I'll help him to do it.

His birthday is coming up. I was thinking to get him a good book. Nothing really trippy and hard to understand. Maybe a book with pictures in it. Show and teach. Like back in kindergarten hahaha, show and tell. But really he doesn't need any books. He knows what to do and how to do it. It's just a matter of choosing one thing that he actually ENJOYs doing and then, doing it.

He's really handsome. Maybe on second thought, I'll get him a mirror. I'll write a love note on it in red lipstick and then put my lips smack on it for a signature. I guess that would be like giving him a compliment without making it obvious? I'll have to think about it.
Any fun, cool suggestions from any of you folks?

Just pointing out the obvious!

I don't get it.
Do you mean to say something TO me? Or help me figure out what I should know in order to get him an appropriate gift for his birthday.

Actually. I guess I shouln't even be saying things like this. It could get me in trouble. Perhaps your point is more spiritual than you realize. Hehehe. I was playing a prank.

zzzzz...OH! I know what you meant hehehe. That because he's handsome he is supposedly lacking in intelligence because he is too concerned with appearances. Oh, not this fellow. He's a genius.

Samara,

The vibe I'm getting is that you sound generally happy with him, and also very much in love. Am I wrong ?

Here is what I suggest:

Sex...Good sex and lots of it..but there's a catch...

It has to be specifically all the things he especially loves, that you might not..know what I'm saying ?

See what I have to put up with ?

Personally, I think a good idea would be if you gave him a photo of yourself in a mediaeval-style frame. Then whenever you weren't there, it would remind him of what he was missing.

Oh, Pisky!

Surely you're not complaining!!

Maybe you've not had any birthday presents?

Now we can all be envious!!

KayEm. Cool. I know what you're talking about too. You're trying to say that I should live and let live. Even if I don't like some of the things he likes in sex, it's a give and take situation and I'm suppose to tolerate the things I don't like until I can "understand" more about it, and therefore end up enjoying it too! All men are boys in their heart...'Zarathustra' : "Woman understands children better than man does, but man is more childish than woman." And...
"In a real man there is a child hidden: it wants to play. Up then, you women, and discover the child in man!"

And Pisky? I like your idea ALOT! What a great idea! I never would have thought of it! "...gave him a photo of yourself in a mediaeval-style frame..." Nice ancient symbolism there. And yea, so he would remember me everytime he saw it. I like it!

That wasn't quite what I meant Samara, but I'm glad you appreciated my post anyway

No...what I meant was that you should do all the things he likes, but only if you enjoy them too already. Know what I'm saying ? I would never advocate doing anything painful, or that you're uncomfortable with.

My point was to make it a make-out session that's all about him, rather then you since it was his birthday. That's all.

Have a good one.
