So i have been getting heavily into meditation. And to me at least, sometimes i would start to get sleepy, and i would recognize it, and say you are getting sleepy, now you need to wake up and re-focus. So i am now, what it seems able to hold on to both a conscious mind and an unconscious mind. I know thats not the point of meditating persay, but im able to do it at times.

Anyways...so i read about lucid dreaming awhile ago, and i basically started doing the same as above. BUT I HELD ONTO IT.
my body started to get a little tingly, and i kept telling myself in my mind. You are going to start dreaming. Its ok, dont be scared. YOU WILL REALIZE YOUR DREAMING, WHILE YOU ARE DREAMING. i kept saying that phrase in my head.
now all the sudden my ENTIRE BODY went numb. i wasn't able to move it. i told myself WAKE UP COME ON MOVE YOUR ARMS, and i wasn't able to. it was like viewing the world in your eyes, but not being able to control it.
anyways so i kept pushing threw it.
and then my breathing changed to a certain pace. When that happened i began to feel LITE.
like all the sudden i was somewhat FLOATING, as if there was no gravity.
i got an intest preassure in my head, and all the sudden my ears POPPED.
when that happened, the little feeling i had in my body was GONE.
it felt as if my whole body was just gone.
my mind started see'ing random things.
the best way to describe it was like.
i was in an IMAX THEATERE, a huge one and all the sudden i started seeing images rapidly. But for some reason i can see each one with detail, they kinda blended together smoothly not just CHANGE, to the next one.
but it was like my body was viewing the imax screen. BUT I WAS VIEWING MY BODY from another few feet behind.
like i the screen was 20 feet from my bODY
and then i was like 5 feet from my body. But i could still see the images threw my body.
its really weird and hard to explain. but it felt like if i was laying down next to myself. LIke you would with a girlfriend. Just laying NEXT TO MYSELF, but floating.....
at this point, it was like i could feel both my BODY and myself floating next to myself. Confusing so let me say that again.
i could feel the feelings i felt IN MY BODY. the thoughts the images etc.
BUT IT ALSO felt as if i was NEXT TO MY BODY, feeling and experiencing another feeling.
like living in two bodies and feeling both.
all the sudden it felt as if my bed started shaking. NOT HARD or violently. Like someone was on my bed sitting, and shaking there foot back and forth.
after what SEEMED like a few mins of this shaking. it felt like my body was rocking bACK AND FORTH but floating again...really cant describe it. Imagine being on a hammock, the same type of feeling. floating and moving but WITHOUT the hammock lol
anyways this happened for awhile, and all the sudden i burst into what would seem a DREAM. even when i opened my eyes at one point, i STILL seen this dream forming. not my room.
thats when i kinda got "scared" and was like wow this is pretty trippy you know.
i think when i did that i started to snap out of it, and kinda started loosing it at that point.
there so much more detail and feelings BUT...it seems like words can not describe it.

anyone had one similar? or does this even sound like the start to lucid dreaming? or obe, astral projection etc.

another thing i forgot to mention.
at the very end point, when i started shaping what seemed a dream.
it was like a television was flipping threw images or channels of different dreams.
a weird guy showed up, his face was a pale grey
and he said in a very calm angelic type of voice.
YOU ARE DREAMING...
and thats truelly when i kinda started not focusing and started to snap out of the DREAM like state..really weird but amazing non the less

I had something similar last night. I don't know what lucid dreaming is, and have never had an OBE, and can't astral project. But in recent months I have had visions of things, some while asleep and some before sleep, and aha type moments when I awake from sleep. These dreams or visions are so real, and yet do not conform with any reality in this plain of existence.

Last night, what you describe rings true. As I'm drifting off to sleep, I let myself go. It's like a movie screen with super vivid crystal clear colors unlike I've ever seen in real life. This dream last night was of the earth. The skys were the deepest and brightest blue, the oceans where crystal clear blue/emerald green, the clouds looked like white cotton balls. The color of the trees silvery green that reflected light beautifully. The beach sand was the color of gold. In the dream I thought this is what it will look like soon. It was an amazing feeling of peace as I sat on picnic benches with others that seemed to be familiar yet weren't. Fruit trees grew everywhere and if you were hungry you would just grab a fruit. There was no labor in this dream, just people relaxing in peace.

Sounds like it to me.

I got enough into lucid dreaming at one point that I was able to see what it was like, tried to do impossible things and found that my subconscious was STILL trying to resist my ability to do them even though I was dreaming. That was a big eye-opener to me. I will definitely return to this practice when I feel more prepared though.

When I was in high school I used to sleep through one class entirely, and had some experiences similar to what you are describing, but my clearest lucid dreams came at night when I was able to actually wake up from inside some of my already-occurring dreams by making a habit of recording them every morning when I woke up (which helps you remember them much much better, and eventually REALIZE when you are dreaming), and I would constantly raise awareness during the day to see if I was dreaming or not at any given point in time. You have to REALLY check, not just go through the motions, if you ever want to wake up in your dreams (as checking will become 2nd nature if you do it often enough throughout the day).

I remember I was once in a dream where something bizarre happened, and I stopped, and asked myself, "Am I dreaming?" After thinking about it for a second, I concluded that it WASN'T dreaming, and carried on until I woke up.
Trippy and frustrating.

Lucid dreams really are amazing though. Kudos on your accomplishment, you are walking right through the door.

I lucid dream once in a blue but I can't get myself to do it purposely , Sometimes when I'm in a dream and I realize I'm dreaming to prove it to myself I'll do something I can't in reality and it wakes me up. For example last year i had a dream I was by myself somewhere out in a field and I was sitting under a tree that had no leaves. I started thinking "where am I & where is everyone else" once I pondered that I realized I was dreaming and thought to myself... "If I'm dreaming I want to fly" I Jumped up and Blasted into the air like a rocket. I don't know if it was the feeling of acceleration or the fact that my ego knew that I couldn't really do that but I woke up almost immediately.

When I woke up I thought to myself , the next time this happens I'm going to make a mental note , but not do anything crazy to see if I could enjoy it for a while. about 4 months later I became lucid in a dream , It was as if the people I was around knew me for ages and we were close friends , the problem was I had no Idea who these people were. I understood that I was dreaming but remembered not to do anything that I couldn't do normally while awake. This lasted for what felt like 5 minutes when I couldn't resist anymore and I said "ok , we're going to fly again"... I decided the best was was for the roof of my house to open up. so the roof flipped open like it was on a hinge and once again I blasted into the air... once I got up there " the house looked like the size of a dime... I got scarred because i didn't know how to get down and I woke up again. It's been frustrating but I'm trying

I stopped for the same reason. It was no problem at first, but once I was writing out 4 and 5 pages worth of dreams every morning, I didn't feel like putting that much effort into it anymore. It's laziness, you are right. Maybe I need to learn a form of short-hand for this.

its funny because now that i THINK ABOUT IT TRUELLY THINK ABOUT IT. i have had a few lucid dreams int he past. I guess i didnt consider it until now.
One time i was on the top of my stairs in a dream. And i said i wanted to jump down to the bottom of the stairs. and i thought in my dream, WHY NOT? its not that far. So i kinda floated like i was on the moon down to the bottom of the stairs. When i got down there i said to myself no WAY!! THATS SO AWESOME!!! even while i write this i can get the happiness i felt then.
So when i got to the bottom i said i wanted to fly up to the ceiling. I tried but nothing happened. After a few minutes passed in my dream, i tried it again and i floated very slow.
I went outside i tried it again, i got about the height of tree's and i fell, and woke up.
I've had flying dreams NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT, a few times in my life.
THat day when i woke up and went to shower, i looked at my stairs and for a second i actually felt, COME ON I CAN DO THIS...
good thing i didnt jump haha.

that sounds more to me like a dmt trip without the aid of dmt...

the other night my GF saw a UFO (Branson MO Aug 6th2009) but that night i was dreaming and all of a sudden i was in a back yard it was my back yard (but it wasn't) and i was looking in the sky waiting and hoping for a UFO, i finally got so aggravated I began cursing the inhabitants of these ships, and thinking in my head why did you show your self to her and not me, then i shouted show your self (or something along that line) then all of a sudden my feet where pulled out from under me and i began to be dragged rapidly across the ground, but nothing was pulling me. i then began to take off (like a plane), and i got so scared (i regret) and i woke up(like literally awake) but i was at my house (again not really mine) and then it all faded away and my gf was staring at me and i was back in the hotel at Branson.

one thing though is, i have never had a dream that clear and 3 dimensional. it really was like i was awake. the weirdest part is that i woke up in some one Else's house and thought it was mine there was even a dog next to the bed and it barked, then it faded away. and my gf was staring at me (which she didnt recall doing)......

I have been doing something similar
and I found focus on your breathing really helped a lot!
