What have we done? (a soldier's essay)

I know that I among others who wear the same uniform as I do have made a grave mistake. Despite that we had no choice as individuals, we have made a mistake as a whole in our ignorance and naivety, and trust of this hijacked government. We went to a sovereign nation and uprooted its stability and embedded our own government as we have done so many times in the past.

Today we still see the nation as a free nation, (so to speak) with its original way of life, but the path has been paved to start the change to mold this new nation as we see fit in the coming years. And we as soldiers have helped this to happen. It's not just the soldiers who are to blame, but the world as a whole, who stood idly by and watched piece by piece as our government transformed slowly as to go unnoticed (as a frog in cold water, while the temperature slowly increases) and before we knew it, we were the oppressors of the whole world. Not just the Americans, but all governments with whom we share common structure.

This will not stop as the stages are being set in Iran as well as North Korea. Being that they don't fit into the vision of this new world government. All those who have gone against the grain have been removed and replaced. We all know this, but what can we do? What are we doing?

As soldiers, we can only do so much as individuals. Because as individuals, when we resist, we are quickly taken up and prosecuted. Seeds of knowledge must be planted so that the strong arm of the government, the US troops, knows when to resist the unconstitutional orders. But in order for that to happen, people must understand the constitution, and understand how our government was set up and supposed to be run. They must understand what is happening in the world around them, and how their actions will affect everyone else.

Most importantly, they must remember the oath that they took. That we should ALL take.
"I do solemnly swear to uphold and defend the constitution of the united states, against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, and bear true faith and allegiance to the same. So help me god"

The obey the orders of the president, should not be in there. The president actually has NO power over the united states military technically. Only congress can send us to war. He has military advisers, so that he can propose actions to congress, but that's about the limit of his influence on us.

The truth is that the president, as he does all the time now, is and has been flexing muscles and exercising powers he doesn't have, through rerouted means. Though his influence is from the unseen guiding hand of the shadow government as it works all major governments of power worldwide. *sigh*

I am ashamed of my actions and the actions of my brethren. though I am and will always be proud of serving my people, but we have done the opposite of this. we have paved the way ahead for the complete take over of the world and emplacement of a new regime. I can only hope and pray that more people are awaken and will act soon and educate themselves as well as others. Especially those in the military. I am pleased to have learned of the oath keepers and how there are more people than i thought in the military who will stand up, but we still have a lot of work to do to open the eyes of those who will be used by the government to bring forth the new regime and world government. I ask those of you out there to find a soldier, and intrigue him or her, into seeking knowledge.

It is outstanding to see a brother in arms speak the true nature of the abuses and liberties the Executive branch has taken for so long. Remember that it is not just this new administration that has forgotten the Constitution of the United States...

Rest assured, there are many veterans also that have not forgotten the oath we took so long ago. We are no longer bound by the rules and statutes of the UCMJ, as active duty and reserve personnell are. There are many of us that are active in the Patriot movement, both vocally and physically, in varying degree.

We will continue to do so, and our numbers grow as many coming home from the sandbox have seen and discovered the true "nature of the beast" for themselves.

Take heart brother! You are far from alone in your words and thoughts. The true challenge will be to resist the plot currently underway to vilify the Patriots, veterans, gun owners, and pretty much every person that refuses to buy what D.C. is trying to shove down our collective throats.

THAT is what Oath Keepers is about... When the "balloon goes up", WE, THE PEOPLE will be on the front lines, labelled as terrorists or worse.

You will be ordered to supress us by TPTB. Some of your CO's will balk, but likely many will initially carry out the orders handed them.

It's simple.

I have no doubts what you, and other good men that revere that Oath, and understand the true meaning of "duty" and "honor" will do.

THAT, among other reasons, is why I KNOW that this Republic will stand!

Am in the air cadets (maghull 2348 seq) the truth has been modified so England or the new world order whatever you want call it is taking heeps of credit for the jet. But its honor and duty the oaf was sign. I have recently discovered that England is a roman catholic army. Take a good look at the oaf and you will will discover the truth and simple flurd. If this can be flurd that the hole system will come failing down. By the way and a corporal. The new world empero will come failing down what will i be doing this!

Thank you brother, for your words. Although i am still active, I know of a few, who stand by me, who will take the right side, when the so called "bubba-effect" occurs. I can only hope, however, that we will not be isolated individuals, but rather many at once, and perhaps even on a higher level of command. Although there is no way to know for sure, and I would hope no one knows until after the fact, but maybe even that those highers are already taking action in preparation in our favor when in fact the time comes. Many forget that it was Hitler's highest ranking officers that were working to remove him from power. And not for personal gain, but for the people of Germany.

Everyday I pray for peaceful resolution, however, if that is made impossible, and we see who in fact the true patriots are, that our numbers will flourish. Even with the sacrifices of the first brave men, that their actions will not be in vain, but rather awaken the rest of the world.

There will be a peaceful resolution there has to be because everything leads up to something else, but because of the goverments we have nowerdays i think it will be made by the russians or the terrorist

While there is some merit to your post, what you have said here is completely wrong.

If you know your constitution like you expect everyone else to know it, then you would be aware that the congress is limited to declaring and funding war. The President as Commander-in-Chief, is charged with carrying out the war. This is why officers in the military are charged with carrying out the lawful orders of the President and officers above them.

This essentially stems from George Washington having been Commander of the Army and then first President under our Constitution.

I also think you don't give members of the military some credit they deserve. A great deal of them disagree with some of the major aspects of a campaign, even when lawful, but they do a good job of making the best of a bad situation. I have known good officers who despite an aversion to the reasoning for getting involved in certain campaigns, stay in and serve as a buffer to bad decisions and ways of though, as well as to be good mentors to lower ranking servicemen. I wish there were even more people of such character to actually serve in the military to try and maintain the honor and dignity of such service.

Anyway, to respond to WOLF 321, I stand corrected on that, however, the president can only guide the war, he does not lead it. He is not a military leader, nor is he knowledgeable on military operations. It is up to his advisers to run the war.

And as far as those who serve, I give all due credit. Many as i have said, blindly follow orders, and many as I know personally could care less about anything but going out and playing soldier and kill kill kill, as well as those out there who through their own naivety go along and truly in their heart believe what they are doing is right. Now as I have said, there are those who serve with me, who do know in fact the truth about a lot of whats going on behind the curtain, and we try to educate others. I wish to stay in the military and help guide others, and teach them about the oath they took, and mentor and develop strong leaders. So that when they are in charge, they don't blindly follow orders, and if they are the ones who become in charge and gain higher ranks, that they know what is right and wrong, based on the constitutional principles.

U.S. Constitution, Article II, Section 2

While I couldn't agree with you more about the intrusion of the US into the affairs of other countries, I do not share your opinion as to the source. Each Administration has it's own agenda. With the continued withdrawl of troops in Iraq, the current Administration is showing that it too agrees with you. President Obama has said himself that we never should have gone into Iraq. The Bush Administration was looking out for it's own personal business. Bush has an oil background and has 'Daddy Issues', and Cheney still has very close ties with Halliburton and we all know the $$$ FORTUNE $$$ they made off Government Contracts in Iraq! They made themselves richer and used a devastating tragedy to justify it. Regretfully it was at your expense. I was in the service during the transition from Bush Prime to Clinton. It takes about six months or so, but eventually you can feel a change in tone from one administration to the next.

However, in the matter of fidelity to the citizens of the United States, those of us who served before you now stand beside you and know deep down that you will never turn your backs on the American People or the Constitution. And may God help the politician who tries to make you!

I don't know about each administration having their own agenda. Honestly, a lot of what has come over the last 20 years seams to be one thing after another each administration taking what the last had (positive and negative) and continuing it. For example, the patriot act, and the D.H.S, Obama is using those both against the American people. Though there has been public criticism over both of them. Not to mention that the economy is so bad right now.

OK, Bush did yadda yadda yadda, but now Obama is in charge. Not only has he not fixed any of the job losses, he hasn't even slowed down the rate at which we are losing jobs. as a matter of fact, we lost 300,000 jobs in June alone. I remember when in a month it was a big deal with we had lost 50,000 jobs. and now we are losing 6 times that each month, and its not getting any better.

Also lets not forget that the first companies coming out of chapter 11, are the ones that the government now owns. i.e GM. By definition, that is Fascism. Obama, i really do hate to say it, is no different than Bush. To be honest, I want nothing more than a truly good president, republican or democrat. I have a family i care about, a daughter who will grow up in whatever future comes. While i may not like someone because they are a democrat, because I am a republican, I always give them my best, and pray they do what's right, though no one has done so in a long time, republican or democrat.

Most that have been here on ATS for a while and read my posts will remember this story, but I'll tell it again for your benefit, as well as other newer members.

My paternal grandparents barely escaped Fascist Italy in '29. They came to an America in the beginning throes of the Great Depression nearly peniless, and fought and clawed their way into society here. Add to that they had 5 kids through those early years, and my nanni (grandmother) never worked a "real" job here other than doing other people's laundry and such.

Both of them taught themselves to read and write English, as well as their children before they were in public school. My Pop started a lunch wagon business, and worked it until nearly the day of his death. My dad, as well as my aunts and uncles, had to help with all the work.

The stories I used to hear my Pop tell my generation of cousins were kind of like "boogeyman" stories... Now he passed when I was still kind of young, but I realized as I got older that they were all true.

The stories were about "hiding from the black shirts", and stories of "Il Duce". They always scared the hell out of me. I used to literally be frightened of men in black shirts or jackets because of the stories Pop told us all.

The funny thing is, (not so funny, really) those stories could almost be applied to our country, in the present day.

We have our own Duce now, and the black shirts wear red jackets emblazoned "City Year".

Any other Paisano out there on the interweb, if they listened to their parents or grandparents, would easily draw the same eerie parallells.

The only missing piece is... We don't have anywhere "safe" to run to. We're just going to have to roll up our sleeves and take care of this ourselves.

The good part is... I'm not that little kid anymore, and I'm far from scared of my mortality. There are, after all, worse things than death.

You know, people loosely throw the term fascism around, way too much. And whats funny is how they like to call republicans or constitutionalists fascists, but never really even understand the term, Either or that, or what a Nazi was. They are both political parties, with ideals. Very left ideals, i might add. People think because republicans aren't afraid of declaring war, that we are fascists. Along with other stupid reasoning i don't feel like mentioning here.

But, I'm glad that you understand the concept. It's funny, they don't each you in school about the actual politics behind fascism and national socialism, just that Hitler and Mousilini killed many, and were bad people, and so were their party members.

If they DID actually teach us about the politics behind these parties, we would all have chills down our spines, as dejavu sets in, and the eerie familiarity as history repeats itself, and il fascio is mirrored in the white house today combined with the nationalsozialist ideals of Germany in the 1930's

I don't see "Congress or the President", I just see "Congress".

We haven't had a formal declaration of war since WWII. Since WWII, the US has been in a CONSTANT state of war.

Cuba, Grenada, Panama, Viet Nam, Korea, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, The Cold War, The Drug War, The War on Terrorism, and probably a shat load more I'm forgetting.



I too am a veteran, and I agree with the OP entirely.

This government is criminal. I was brainwashed by media to believe I was fighting for the US government, I was not. I swore an oath to defend the constitution, not corporate interests.

Praise Ron Paul for waking me up.

It also sucks that people of other countries hate us Americans for the policies our GOVERNMENT makes....not us....the government.....who we "elected"...

Well there are like 325,000,000 people in the U.S.

I would estimate about at least 100,000,000 are just pure ignorant dumb asses.

Well said view. I think you are over reacting just a lil though. If we happen to be reshaping things to our advantage a bit during this 'war on terror' in a way to better serve us strategically in the future against threats, so be it. I do not agree with the NWO theories.

Not trying to call you out. But what exactly have you been ordered to do that has made you so ashamed? I do not agree with our invasion of Iraq...at least in its timing. But I have never been ordered to do anything that I felt was immoral....in myown sense of the word. We are targeting and destoying people that are asking for it and trying best we can to shelter the innocent.

May not be as cut and dry as that, but that is the way it feels to me while on the ground
