Hello at ATS members, aka the only sane people in society. Anyways i have recentely awakened and want to develop my spiritual self and begin to enjoy what I really am out of this 5 sense 3 d world. I'm having a problem finding a starting point and want to know what some others have done and where they started. Thanks everyone.

I would start with simple meditations to get your mind in tune with your subconscious. Will make it easier for you to develop the 6th sense you are looking for.

books. start with books. they give you a push start and alot to contemplate. i started with "the ultimate secrets of total self confidence" by robert anthony. then "33 steps to reclaiming the infinite self" by stuart wilde. now im on "the power of now" by eckhart tolle. all these have been phenomenal. especially the first one in its moment in time. but i cant single one out theyve all been great.

another important factor is to drop your pre-notioned ideas (judgements) of things. put your awarenes/feelings into things and see it all for what it is, not in your opinion, but just for what it is. this really opens you up. and realize that the answers come from within. there is no right and wrong in this world. there is positive and negative but that is two polarities of the same atom, or situation you are in. believe that everythings just is, and it is a frequency, a feeling. thats all. it opens you up to people and makes you passionate about hearing them out and helps you understand where they are coming from. people will see this in you and want to open up to you more. again there is no right or wrong in this world, it is all relative to the self and our own beliefs. thinnk about it.

make sure you take an objective look on things. i do this by talking to myself in my mind and telling myself what the situation is and i repeat what i may be saying or what someone else is saying. its really nothing more than playing psychologist. ask yourself why do i feel this way. why when someone says or does this or wears that or when i eat this, it makes me feel this way. this is the essence of "know thyself" and this is believed to be the main factor in enlightenment. i mean, just think about the word enlightenment for a minute. it is increasing your awareness. and it is all coming from a "silent within". the stillness within us all. the essence/source. analyze everything you do and say and same for those around you. ask yourself how you feel indoors, outdoors, sitting, smoking, drinking. look deeper into things. what is the driving force behind it all. but one important factor. MAKE SURE to stay extroverted! i began this journey about a year and a half ago and a few months ago i started to stave off whenever i began to not just analyze myself, but i was unaware that i was focusing on how i always looked in others eyes, which is good, that is being objective. but i was too introverted. my "awareness" was always placed in myself, not in others. i started making situations feel awkward n such. its hard to describe but just remember yin & yang. EVERYTHING only works with balance!! understand yourself and you will understand others and the way this world works. it will all begin to unfold and it is so GREAT!!!

if you would like, p2p me or i will check this out when i get back in town. i really hope this helps and i apologize if the overload of info is frustrating. take your time, know it all is a slow path you walk.

oh snap one of the most important factors. know that at your deepest essence, you are an extension of the creator. and thus, given great ability to create. your mind and awareness are powerful tools. best of luck bud

I'm still pondering: "on Earth as it is in Heaven".

So not much will change perhaps.

As far as books go, start with Ekhart Tolle, Stuart Wilde is a bit out there but I like him.

You are working toward an awakened state of being.
A fully awakened being would not have to ask any questions.
Just semantic's.

Good luck in your journey, it is the journey after all and not the destination.

Peace!
Cindy

Hi There,

Google: Adyashanti (Emptiness Dancing and You Tube vids), Jiddu Krishnamurti (As One Is), Papaji (The Truth Is and You Tube vids), Nisargadatta Maharaj (I Am That), Ramana Maharshi (Collected Works or collection of satsangs), Mooji...(You Tube vids)

If these guys make absolutely no sense to you, start with Tolle as someone else suggested.

All are fully awake and can help you find your way. Hint: you are already there.

Funny, I mentioned this earlier today, but I will attempt to give you a few tips to get started. 1. Unplug any electrical device you absolutely do not need for 2 weeks. 2. Detoxify your body. Drink water and fresh squeezed juice and organic milk and eat fruits and veg. Nothing manmade. Also for the 2 weeks. 3. Find a serene spot in the woods or a field away from powerlines and manmade noises and meditate in a manner thats simple and easy for you like humming singing talking to yourself or plants or animals. And be sure to also close your eyes and clear your mind and focus only on natures sounds. Everyday during 2 week period do this for a few hours, the longer the better. 4. During 2 weeks no contact with any other person unless to simply say you are alive and ok but no electronics such as cellphone or computer. If you do this with sincerity at the end of 2 weeks you will be a different human being. If you want to stay that way you will know what you will have to sacrifice and let go of. Good luck and enjoy.

I'd suggest a music festival. Not like warped tour or anything lame like that. A hippie style music festival, its summer so there are plenty going on. Id suggest you go. Step out of the box enjoy a good time with good people, great no, better than great music. That was my starting point and i have felt comfortable and content ever since. Dont believe me seriously try it. I'd suggest it to all of you really. Take a step in a beautiful world and just enjoy yourself for one weekend. You'll love it. Guaranteed!!!

Reality is a fractal based on the structures created in plasma dynamics. God is causality... Aliens created us.... Your soul is not unique, your perspective in reality is.......Love is all that exists, you are a canvas painted on by that love.

You will soon realize that you already are a fully developed spiritual being, only hidden behind the veils of ignorance. Spiritual journey is about clearing the cobwebs of ignorance one by one, it is a challenge and strictly a private affair. You choose your ways...

As other have stated, start with Tolle:

1- The power of now.
2- A new earth.

These are the ABCs of spirituality. A must read and must to put in practice. They are like a map of the terrain ahead.

A few more starting steps:

Spiritual war on the ignorance starts from two fronts: Outer change and inner transformation.
Outwardly, you may like to get rid of what is not necessary. Not to become totally non-materialistic, that is difficult in today's world, just trim your needs down and keep and seek only absolutely necessary things. Un-necessary stuff also includes people that are negative or are not contributing in any way.

Try to see that the acquisition and hoarding of material stuff is not your end goal, things are only a means/tool to enable you to achieve something greater and of course to keep you alive and well.

A feeling of healthy detachment from worldly things will rise and if it does you are on the right path.

Remember that giving up the material things will not make you evolve spiritually, it will only make you poor. Spiritual evolution will make you give up material things, its reverse. You will see that excess of these is unnecessary and you will change outwardly.

Inner change is a bit more difficult and must be taken up slowly. First step is to realize that your ego and mind are merely tools to enable you to survive and should serve no more purpose than that. Tolle talks about it better...

Again, a feeling of healthy detachment shall arise from your emotions, wants, desires, happiness or sorrow. Like material things they serve some purpose in earthly life but are not your essence.

The trick is not to give up these qualities and become a clone of Mr Spock, but to see what they do, to control them as you control your tools. Gradual evolution will automatically tone and refine them and you will see an inner transformation.

These two are major layers of dusty ignorance on the first level of this game. So one should start with them.

This is a pretty good advise..

You might want to try full-on fasting too, I just heard that it reduces the amount of Niacin (vitamin B3) in the body. Niacin apparently blocks the brain from seeing visions. That is probably why fasting is held in such high degree in many religions.

I don't know about the electricity, but it is a fact that most apparatus form strong fields, some of what may be distracting. Can't be unhealthy either.

The whole concept of distancing yourself from electronics was in a book i found at the library a few years back but i do not remember the name of it. It was mostly about the power of the mind and one section said electronics disturb a persons thoughts since the brain works on electric pulses. The book is around 10 to 15 years old and predicted people would act more aggressive and violently as technology increased. It suggested not to sleep with any electronics within 20 ft of you as you might experience abnormal dreams such as OBEs. YEP it said OBEs were nothing more than dreams.

..... An old man once crossed the street only to be hit by a car, ..... however right before impact his only thought was " Finally, something is happening"

..... experience, ..... play jazz, fake a seizure just to see what happens, ..... do whatever you'd like to do. Be, whoever you'd like to be, .... create your world as you see fit.

.... And never forget, ... nothing can really hurt you here, and there's no reason to be affraid, .... ever.

Don't believe anyone, but consider all possibilities.

Whether it's a guru or maniac, consider what they say with equal bias.

You are one, the world is one. Don't allow numbers to influence you. It's just an illusion anyway.

If you want to get to the truth of things, use creative thinking to find a way in which all seemingly conflicting viewpoints can be valid simultaneously.

Everything we experience is a combination of previous experiences and imaginings. We can't control reality but we can influence it with our imagination. Now go forth and change the world.
