A local lawmaker wants her Ohio city to use its law against indecent exposure to go after young people in low-riding pants.

Canton City Councilwoman Mary Cirelli said constituents have raised concerns about how the fashion trend leaves underwear and sometimes bare rear ends visible.

The 70-year-old Democrat said that's rude, and she has sent a memo to the city's law director asking whether Canton's public indecency law would provide some coverage...........

How can you be told what to wear?

Anyways, droopy pants have been out of style for years. I believe tight jeans are back in fashion now. I guess municipalities need to make money somehow. Probably will start handing out fines for not so fashion savy people.

They Did this in toronto a few years back. I dont exactly remember, but i think they were very close to making baggy pants below the waist illegal.

This is just another case of some tight-assed, probably catholic, nutjob thinking that she known whats best for everybody. People like these are whats wrong with the world, as they spend so much time putting on other peoples pants that she walks out of the house without any on.

I was driving down the road the other day, and saw a young dude walking down the the street with his pants sagging real low. His entire rear, cheeks and all, was visible. Not exactly what I want to see.

i wear droopy pants very rarely but if it was made illegal i would start wearing them all the time as a protest.

With all the problems in the world...and this is what they focus on? Im probably on the extreme side of this debate though as i think people should be able to walk around nude if they wish to.

I wear my pants lower then most. Just because one high kid cant keep his ass in his pants shouldnt mean the rest of us cant wear pants the way we feel comfortable.

I hate tight, waist-high jeans. To... blah. (thats my fashion tip for the day)

As much as I dislike people who don't know what a belt is, or how to wear their jeans correctly, this is ludicrous.

If she doesn't like it, she can look away. My god, and who gives a damn what a 70 year old thinks anyway? She's only going to be around another 10 years or so.

I hate droopy pants, and can't understand why people wear them. Makes it look like the person wearing these pants forgot where the bathroom was and had an "accident" in their pants. Icky.

My nephew used to wear his pants so low they were actually below his butt cheeks. I never understood how he kept them from falling around his ankles, though many times I would see him grab his pants as they started sliding down. You definitely knew what type of underwear his liked best. He quit wearing them when I started teasing him about taking a dump in his pants. Oh and he was still in his early 20's when going through this stage. Young people usually finally thank goodness outgrow this stage.

But I don't believe we should make it illegal to wear them. If someone wants to run around looking like they took a dump in their pants, well they are the ones that look stupid and give me a good laugh. Take it with a grain of salt people, it is just another way of young people trying to "find" themselves, somewhere in those pants.

The problem should regulate itself. Who is going to give some idiot with his pants hanging down a job? That right there should cut down on the ability of stupidity to spread.

But then, not having a job in America is no big deal and in some circles actually preferred.

What I dont get is that this is some sort of ghetto trash counter-culture thing, right? Well, why would the ghetto trash dress in such a way that makes it difficult for them to outrun the cops?

Kids look like idiots. Always have and always will. It just gets terribly sad when an "adult" is seen dressing/behaving this way and it brings one to tears should said adult actually have a child. Talk about inequality. What sort of a chance does a child born of fools have? The child would be better off born f crackheads who would die early and not have the time to screw the kid up.

The Uk view of droopy pants and the USA's are completely different...droopy pants over their are extreme to say the least,might aswell walk around with your jeans round your ankles...*mostly* in the uk the shape of the bum is still partially visible...anyway,i dont know where im going with this...

I personally don't see anything wrong with a Locality passing legislation to ban pants that are worn so low your ass hangs out. I find it disgusting personally, and indecent as no one wants to look at some guys (and sometimes girl) ass and boxers. It looks almost as ignorant as Kevin_x2's dumbass comment.
