What does the Magnetosphere Simulation tell us?

A terrible "reading"? It isn't a "reading", it is a computer simulation which uses data from the ACE satellite. When the simulator stopped updating the density of the solar wind was low and the speed of the solar wind was low.

It looks like it did when the Haiti earthquake hit, when the south pole was gone. And aside from correcting me, do you know why it's down? Why are you being to agressive?

When was the south pole gone? What happened to it?

I don't know why the magnetosphere simulation is down. I don't really pay much attention to it, I prefer to use source of the data it uses.
