Thanks!
One question though, I do remember a while back a lot of people making fake stories and just a lot of hoaxes, does that still go on?

Hey, Patman12. Welcome. Yeah, the hoaxes continue. It's the way of the world. lol. Colorado Springs. I lived there for a year. I was stationed at Ft. Carson. I loved that little city. I didn't get to enjoy too much, I was spending most of my time "in the field". But in May of that year, my family was enjoying the pool at our apartment complex, meanwhile I was "down range" sitting in 2 feet of snow. lol. There used to be a grocery store in Colorado Springs. It had a yellow sign that said, "Grocery Store". It was very generic. And everything in the store was labeled with yellow labels and just said, like "green beans", etc. It was a great place to shop and help my young family budget on my privates pay. I always felt like I should be spray painted yellow and have sign on me that said, "shopper". lol.

Haha yeah no matter how much snow it wont stop people from going to the pool. I havent had the experience of shoppin at "Grocery Store" but sounds pretty funny lol. And Ft Carson is getting new renovations so now its not such a dump lol.

Welcome to ATS!

I got to go to Colorado Springs to tryout for the US Paralympic Sled Hockey Team. Got altitude sickness so bad i couldn't skate a straight line, puked, then passed out cold! It was a nice city, but this "flat lander" couldn't handle it.

Cheers

Will

Hello fellow Coloradan, I'm here north of ya in Aurora, was born in Colorado Springs, was a real nice place growing up, still is today I'm sure. I haven't been down there though for a long time. I'd like to check it out again, visit some of the places where I grew up, get a good dose of nostalgia. I hear it keeps growing and growing.

Anyways good to have ya on ATS.

Oh,yeah. Loved the mountains. Cripple Creek. That was fun to visit. Coming down the mountain the transmission on my 1972 Fury II went out. I bought it for 500 dollars after some clown stole my van that I loaned him for the night to go to the drive in. My collatoral? His stolen VW bug. lol. He took my van and went AWOL. And I was stuck with a stolen car. Anyway, I finally got off the mountain, I had to stop every few miles to let the transmission "reset" itself. Next day I called a transmission shop. They came and rebuilt my transmission, towed the car first, of course. I paid them with monthy payments, and they even knew I was heading to Greece soon. Nice people there. And,yes, I paid them. lol. It took me a year, and I sent the checks from Greece.

This was a while ago. 1982.
