Just Viewed The Movie "W."

I had no real concrete opinions about the man up until moments ago. I'm not really up to speed on national and international political issues or personas either. But now with just the impression left by a short movie it seems that he is/was an o.k. guy. Could it just be the way he was portrayed; does anyone reading this feel that this movie was propagandic in any ways? What % of people who respond to this have an overall positive opinion of the former U.S. president and what percentage of the responants will voice a primarily negative opinion of G. W. Bush? In retrospect, has your view been influenced at all by the movie, and if so, how?

The movie certainly portrayed him as a real human beings struggling with demons like everyone else, but I don't know how much of all that is truth. He seemed bumbling and cocky, but he had some of the brightest people in American politics working for him so his administration was a pretty effective political machine.

Regardless of the movie, I've judged him for his actions. I think the world would have been a better place if he had never become president. He's a mass murderer. He stripped us of some of our most fundamental rights. He spent our money like there was no tomorrow.

I wouldn't call him an 'ok guy'. You should read up on recent history instead of relying on a movie to form your opinions.

Havnt seen the movie. But I get my opinions about people from real life and he is the biggest douch of them all imo. Look where we are now compaired to 9 years ago. Thanks man. I mean who don't love bein broke laid off. I mean I do.

I haven't seen the movie but unless it portrayed him as a mass murderer and a traitor to the USA, then yes it's propaganda. He was only a puppet and probably never made any real decisions, but he is still responsible for the role he played.

I don't think the film was propaganda per se. I think it mainly went out to try and humanize Bush. It succeeded at that. However the horrible things Bush did remain in our memory and I don't think that many of us who have been around would make the film in the same way. They of course (the makers of the film) wouldn't make it too negative of Bush because that would turn away audience members. It was just made to humanize Bush- IMO- and to humanize their actions.
