The same RFID implants used to identify lost pets are now being adapted for use on you and me, and not how one might have originally expected. As with all pioneering technologies, it's leisure pursuits that are getting the first stab at the tech.

Specifically: One beach-oriented Barcelona nightclub, the Baja Beach Club, is using the implants to free customers of the burdens of having to carry their purses or wallets.

Maybe it's jjust me but I'll pass, if I have a over baring need to stop off for a drink and can't seem to find my wallet or am not wearing something that doesn't have pockets then I guess I will honestly do without lol... Thank God I'm not an alcoholic!

I have no need to "belong..." Especially to a place that would require THAT of me!

Never in my life will I willingly accept a chip!

Saudi 'Killer Chip' Implant Would Track, Eliminate Undesirables

won't be patented in Germany.

German media outlets reported last week that a Saudi inventor's
application to patent a "killer chip," as the Swiss tabloids put it,
had been denied.

The basic model would consist of a tiny GPS transceiver placed in a
capsule and inserted under a person's skin, so that authorities could
track him easily.

Model B would have an extra function — a dose of cyanide to remotely
kill the wearer without muss or fuss if authorities deemed he'd become
a public threat.

The inventor said the chip could be used to track terrorists,
criminals, fugitives, illegal immigrants, political dissidents,
domestic servants and foreigners overstaying their visas.

"The invention will probably be found to violate paragraph two of the
German Patent Law — which does not allow inventions that transgress
public order or good morals," German Patent and Trademark Office
spokeswoman Stephanie Krüger told the English-language German-news Web
site The Local.

I was particularly intrigued by the "political dissidents" line...

Today, Constitutionalists (those that support our founding document here in the US) are "political dissidents!"

Oh joy for this world.

There are a few other threads on ATS about this general subject. RFIDs cause cancer, they're being used on the homeless and in old people's homes in the US... and now the first "killer" chip breaks cover.

You know, it would not surprise me at all if this chip were invented somewhere else but was being funnelled into the kind of society that might actually use it.

David Icke has been going on about killer chips for years. But of course he's a nutter and nobody believes him. And now he's been proved right.

Again.

(Which is not, of course, to say he's right about everything he says. But time and again apparently outlandish claims come true after a few years.)

If you want to google other stuff on this, I think "Verichip" is the name of the leading US company (above ground, that is).
