So, I was wondering, what is going on with Russia. We haven't heard about anything god awful like a climate change bill, or economic stimulus package. I was actually thinking about moving my family there as I know a little Russian from my grandparents talking to me, and I can't really see a turn around for the United States with all of this debt/obamapelosiism. I know Russia is still has some corruption, but do you fellow ATS'ers know anything about Russia?

russians tend to speak russian, generally, this is an english speaking board, you don't get many russians on it. there are a few, but not many.

russians also quite like a strong, dominant leader, apparently, so they aren't so bothered by corruption and conspiracy, it's more normalised for them. they had royalty first and then the communists, totalitarianism is all they know. capitalism made corruption and conspiracy worse if anything.

you don't hear about conspiracies in russia because it doesn't make russians inclined to care unless it involves 10 million people being moved to siberia, and that's not guaranteed to make them care unless they're likely to be one of the 10 million.

the chechen war was well dodgey, way worse than iraq or afghanistan and critisism of the leadership may still lead to an unusual death, so i'ld say russia isn't going to be much of an improvement on the US, except maybe that they're more open about the whole thing.
