Think of it as a Risk game. NK is China's buffer zone.
China is in a bind with NK though, and I am really glad to see them saying that they are concerned as well. As someone stated, it might just be better
for china if they themselves took out NK but I seriously doubt they would.
They would (I suspect) back US/SK military actions to take out NK's nuclear capacity,but the only way to truely do that is ground forces and a
reunification of north and south korea. A new Democratic Korean country would stablize the region, but I don't think China would approve of that
either. It is a really complicated situation.
China cannot take over NK because of the south koreans, and vice versa.
Lets just hope Lil Kim dies before anyone has to do anything drastic, although it does appear like that won't happen.
A joint US/China military option would be about the only way I can see a solution to this problem.
Sanctions have not worked, there are no other options as far as I can see.
Just my thoughts on the matter.
