The Shady Agendas Behind 5 Popular Conspiracy Theories

Do you ever wonder why some conspiracy theories, no matter how retarded they sound, seem to never die? Where do these things come from, anyway?

Some good reading and there's definitely a few theories in there (*cough* Protocols of the Elders of Zion *cough*) that should really be put to rest here at ATS. Not that they will, but whatever.

Hopefully no one else has posted this yet, but if they have...mods, feel free to obliterate this thread since it's just taking up space.

Thanks. Have a nice day!

Good link, man I have never bought into the Obama birth certificate controversy as been legit it has been used to further divide the country and to further the careers of certain conservative talking heads and to fool the base of the GOP into coughing up more cash. The same goes with the Democrats using the idea of actual criminal prosecutions against the Bush Admin to pump more cash out of their base.

I must say that although Cracked makes good points about a lot of conspiracy theories, there are times where they fail to debunk/make fun of it.

Like the water flouridization CT, they really did not supply any evidence proving it was safe or anything.

Just mostly opinions.

I realize it is a "humor website" as almost all of their stuff is very funny at times, but other times i Really Question if they have a ulterior agenda as well as the ones they are attacking/making fun of.

The "agenda" behind their website may be nothing more than a plot to generate traffic and make some money by creating controversy and stirring up trouble.

Funny website tho despite it's shortcomings.

Well apparently two newspapers in Hawaii printed that Obama was born there, from 1961 i believe.

So ya, that theory is pretty much debunked, because i have seen the paper clippings and it does seem pretty legit.

Actually, I kinda agree with you.

Personally, I think there are a lot of dangers that go along with fluoride in water.

And I felt a bit hesitant posting a link to a humor website, mostly cause it seems rather inappropriate as far as conspiracies go, but I ended up going with it cause I thought at least somebody could learn something from it.

After reading the link......... wherein the most prevalent conspiracies -- at least within the ATS walls -- are not even mentioned, I have to guess that this whole piece was designed to discredit #1 conspiracy -- President Obama's birth certificate, or lack of it.

I think the rest of it is just blogfodder.

Agreed that the Clinton body count one is rarely seen on ATS, but I've witnessed "Global warming is a lie!" "Zionists are behind the NWO!" and "Water fluoridization is meant to dumb us down!" topics a plenty here at ATS. Not to mention the birth certificate conspiracy. The only theory I think that has a shred of credibility to it is the water fluoridization plot. I completely agree with the skeptics/debunkers on the other topics.

Sure, it's lacking in alien/exopolitical topics, but it's not lacking in slightly more terrestrial ATS conversation pieces.

I also believe flouride is a dangerous product, but that wasn't the conspiracy if I read it right. It was the "first step of a Soviet plan to conquer America by either poisoning people or controlling their minds", which I found quite funny. I've never heard of that conspiracy before.

Never heard about the Clinton one either. That gave me a good laugh too.

Obviously this Mark Hill character working for the Socialist, Globalist, Jewish Bankers that funded the Clintons and just trying to deflect us from the truth with this obfuscation so they can take over the world.

Although it was an interesting an humorous read, the moment he wrote,

After all, conspiracy theories never really die, they just wait for people to forget the evidence against it and bring it up later (hell, they've kept the JFK assassination conspiracy theory alive for 46 years).

The entire article is opinion. The JFK assassination was probably THE most sketchy event of history, and anyone who has done a drop of research would realize that the official version was not the truth.

It was also clear that Vincent Foster was murdered if one looked at the investigations and the following cover up.
